Santa Hats!

[03:08:17] The soft cap does not cover the wound.

Not well, obviously.

A very kind gesture. I play many other online MMO's, some that run 3x the monthly fee that Wurm does and those games/devs have never offered a gift at Xmas.

The fact Rolf took the time on December 24th to roll this out for us while he'd likely prefer to be building snowmen outdoors with his children is very meaningful in itself - so cheers, Rolf.

I'm just going to post this here before the inevitable 50 threads of "OMG I DIDNT WANT THAT"

|09:14:08| »» <@Budda> nevermind the whole part about it tying in with visible armour etc

|09:14:22| »» <@Budda> having something you can wear was on obvious choice

|09:14:26| »» <@Budda> an*

|09:16:03| »» <@Budda> also all the ideas of gifts from people

|09:16:08| »» <@Budda> are generally for useful items

|09:16:14| »» <@Budda> you can give useful items for once-off gifts

|09:16:16| »» <@Budda> thats silly

|09:16:31| »» <@Budda> hence the gifts for the last 3 years being cosmetic or w/e

|09:16:34| »» <rosedragon> a hat is better than fireworks imo

|09:16:46| »» <@Budda> cant*

|09:17:00| »» <TheMadDoctor> why not? :)

|09:17:08| »» <TheMadDoctor> its not like we have 100 of them per year ;)

|09:17:10| »» <@Budda> because useful items need to be makeable

|09:17:12| »» <WulfgarDK> I like the hat more than the gnome and fireworks, but all 3 are better than spyglasses and farwalkers

|09:17:16| »» <@Budda> which does away with the special gift aspect

|09:17:36| »» <KyleBooze> i was thinking a key ring...

|09:17:43| »» <@Budda> key ring is too useful for a gift

|09:17:51| »» <TheMadDoctor> hahahaha

|09:17:53| »» <TheMadDoctor> too useful

|09:17:53| »» <@Budda> needs to be a craftable item

|09:18:25| »» <@Budda> if you look at the previous years gifts that people deemed useful

|09:18:29| »» <TheMadDoctor> would be awesome

|09:18:30| »» <@Budda> spyglasses and farwalkers

|09:18:37| »» <@Budda> they now sell for crazy amounts

|09:18:52| »» <KyleBooze> spyglasses are neat, but... I rarely use mine

|09:18:52| »» <@Budda> which is most likely why he doesnt give overly useful gifts anymore

|09:18:55| »» <TheMadDoctor> why would I sell my spyglasses? its so useful

|09:18:56| »» <@Budda> impacts the economy too much

I personally love the idea of santa hats as a gift. Especially so soon after getting visible armour, they look awesome too which is nice.

(Note: All above is my views only. I had no say in w/e the gifts were)

Excellent gift, thanks Rolf and the rest of the team.

A good gift to celebrate visible gear.

Is it somewhat buggy maybe?

I've checked my christmas tree before the server restart today and it told me there's no gift yet..

Now, after the restart, I don't even have the option to check for a gift. :(

You can't have something activated while checking for a gift.

So all others get spyglasses, sculpting wands, transmutation liquid, and we got a lame hat?

Those were years ago.

I am also in the camp that presents should be fun and whimsical, not overpowered.

Thank you Rolf for my new soft cap. It goes very well with my lovely red embroidered cotton jacket

Love the gift. I've kept my gifts in gift form the the past 4 years because they dont have a great use to me and weigh more. But this year i've opened it as it's cool :D
