Back in the 1980's some of the first sandbox multi-user games were coming out of the Scandinavian nations - interactive games where the users designed the content. 100% text based stuff with very crude interactability, but definitely very sandboxy. And they got funding because they would be used to help students reinforce their English Language skills.Obviously something went horribly wrong with the whole teaching English over the internet when gaming thing, but at least they started us down the path to fun 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
