Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) If that is an intel chipset it is probably using the drivers from the maker of the laptop, those tend to be nongaming versions of the Intel driver and almost always are older drivers with poor optimization for OpenGL although DirectX games might work fine (laptop makers STOP updating their drivers once they find a STABLE driver for non gaming use, so If you try to UPDATE DRIVERS windows will tell you you have the best/latest drivers even if they are six years old and horrible drivers.)I had someone in game who was crashing all the time plus getting horrible framerates on their laptop, and after we worked out how to MANUALLY install the drivers direct from Intel, they stopped crashing plus got double their previous framerates, I think about 25 FPS as compared to 2-8 FPS. We can walk you though how to try that but need to know exactly what intel graphic chipset you have. There is various ways to get that but one of the easiest is go to START>RUN/SEARCH and type MSINFO32 then look under COMPONENTS>DISPLAY.You can get the correct driver from the official Intel Download Site here (select GRAPHICS then LAPTOP then the specific chipset) BUT you cannot usually use the auto installation method or run the normal setup EXE file: http://downloadcente...om/default.aspxWhat you need to do instead is go to this page, scroll down to WORKAROUND and then pick the "HAVE DISK" method for your operating system: http://www.intel.com...b/cs-022355.htmSince you are on VISTA you can go directly to this page and work through the steps: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-029635.htm Edited December 8, 2012 by Brash_Endeavors

Little confused on operating system on my laptop just says 32bit. thought it suppose say "window vista 32 bit or 64." Sorry if this makes you facepalm hehe. Posted December 9, 2012 (edited) Right click MY COMPUTER and then PROPERTIES and it should say there if you have 32 or 64 bit Vista. If you cannot find "My Computer" on your desktop then click START, look on the menu righthand side there for COMPUTER and right click that and choose PROPERTIES, look for the SYSTEM line. We'll need to know that to get the correct driver. . We will go slow step by step once we verify if you have 32 or 64 bit Vista. If you have 32-bit Vista you need to download this driver. If you have 64-bit, get this one instead. Save to your hard drive, don't open/run from the intel site. Once they are completely downloaded you'll want to right-click and extract those to a new folder you can easily find again (desktop if thats easiest place for you to find), name the folder something like INTEL DRIVER so you can spot it easy. Don't run any setup installation files yet. Now use this walkthrough from Intel (you've probably been to this page before), be sure to browse to the new folder you created when you look for the file. Make sure to restart/reboot the laptop afterwards. If you get stuck on any step, just come back and give as specific information as you can about any message it gave you, and we will go slow and simple.Just a warning -- Mobile 965 is a pretty old and weak graphics chip (it was launched in July 2006; even if your laptop is newer it still uses a very old graphics chip) and the very newest driver even from Intel direct is going to be close to four years old, so don't get hopes too high that this will be a miracle solution but I think its still worth a try. There may be some additional suggestionss from Wurm staff on "compatibility settings" for older intel chipsets Make sure in Wurm also everything is on ABSOLUTE lowest settings -- the tiniest resolution (you can do fullscreen or windows resizeable but choose lowest resolution 640x480, don't use voicechat, all settings at lowest to start, TURN OFF all sound, don't run skype or winamp or anything else at all in the background. Once we get it running without crashing, we can look at whether some settings can be turned up a little.People have run the game before on Mobile Express 965, maybe we will even get lucky and find someone running Wurm on that now who can help. I know you ran the game in the past on the same laptop but I think they made some client changes in the name of progress that might have been harder for the older intel chipsets. Also fb somehow turned into extension plus pbuffer support is on left it the way it was. Also all the settings are the lowest in graphics and nothing is check in there. Plus most of the advanced graphic ones that i could understand what they would do.edit: tested again i get 25ish frames in a cave in the deed of whitestone so it's not bad in the caves Edited December 9, 2012 by shankiest
