Posted November 22, 2012 The ribbon is too hot. The large nails is too hot. Everything is too hot. Please allow us to cool our items with water so we can put them in a bsb sooner without the above message. For that matter, it should be possible to cool most things faster with water. Except food. The water would ruin it.
Posted November 22, 2012 (edited) put it in a container inside an unlight forge or unlit campfire.,wait a few seconds, maybe a minute if its been in a forge for a long time, Edited November 22, 2012 by Nume
Posted November 22, 2012 That's a workaround, but basically it should be possible by using a barrel of water yes.
Posted November 22, 2012 The Sol is too hot.Place it on the earth and dip it in the sea.But yes, I'd love to see that I can cool things in a barrel of water, or at least put hot items into my BSB without fear of it spontaneously combusting.
Posted November 22, 2012 This would be welcome and not too hard to add, it's currently a right pain to BSB freshly made produce without a workaround cooling forge.
Posted November 22, 2012 as long as tempering doesn't start cooling down the stuff.
Posted November 22, 2012 I wouldn't want tempering the metal to cool it down, but to just place it in the barrel of water to cool it down would be great. Maybe at the expense of a little, just a little ql
Posted November 22, 2012 Don't see why we just can't put hot items in a bin. We can wear glowing hot chain armour but our horses and bulkbins are apparently much more sensitive. This is one of those things where I think realism stands in the way of enjoyment.
Posted November 22, 2012 Yes we can wear glowing hot armour and wield weapons and not even feel any pain. We're hard as nails we wurmians.
Posted November 22, 2012 Lol, amen.I put a hlowing hot lock on a cart back in April, took it off the other day, still glowing hot, you'd think it would've burned a nice hole by now Gotta love Wurm logic

Maybe at the expense of a little, just a little qlSeems to me tempering would be a completely different function, part of improving. Physically placing something in water to cool it should not be the same and IMO that is what cooling it should be. Don't see any reason for a ql hit. I don't think it would be like leaving in till it rusts. I've always been bothered by the way the game treats glowing stuff too. Not even handed at all. Having to cool it down using water or the current cold forge method is just an unnecessary hassle really.
Posted November 23, 2012 true, using water would just be the same different hassle as using the forge
