Fix Fs Gains

Recommended Posts

suggest that fs gains are changed so that they are based on the strength of each animal. Right now some of the harder animals give a smaller gain then some of the weaker ones.Traits should also affect the fs gain from killing an animal.

Traits do affect gains afaik.

I do think the FS system needs some tuning however, been like that for a long time.

Bear in mind what may be "weaker" or "harder" can be simply due to the creature's armor, not their strength or cr. Like spiders, they have terrible armor but will eat a noob into pieces easily; until they swing a sword back and slice them into pieces and gain some tasty fs. Scorpions may take quite a bit more to kill that noob as they hit weaker, but despite that weakness they take longer to kill due to their armor which makes them appear harder. Trolls are similar in this nature, they seem hard because they have both decent armor, and a club to parry with that also smashes noobs into pieces.

Think of it this way: a 20fs noob in scale will take quite some amount of hits to kill for mediocre fs gain, but a 90fs fighter naked will die in a few hits for amazing fs gain, but still hurt you if his weapon strikes you. The scorpion is like the noob, the spider is like the fighter.

well scorps are good for weapons skill, spiders fightskill. Trolls suck for everything

Except for scoprions, trolls, and crocodiles its pretty balanced. Those are all actually not that strong animals, but they either have a weapon, or tough armour that makes them more difficult.

Just scrap the current convoluted fight skill system and replace the current stat burdened yet equipment trumped vogue dance fighing system with a more interactive blend of player input and stats with weapons and armor giving unique abilities that are player induced and have min skill requirements for use

Trolls = good long bow/archery + FS skill

Scorpions used to be good but now they suck for weapon skill, don't they?

champ ven trolls still give .0375 all through the 70s

Greenish and Champ trolls still give same even 80+.

Odd.. I'm at 80+ fs and only getting .015 for greenish trolls. Once you're over 80fs you'll find that trolls/scorps/bears/spiders all basically give .001 fs per (sometimes less). The traits "raging and angry" add a huge bonus ie normal lava spider is .001fs, angry lava spider is .006fs. Yes I'd like to see the fs and fs gains revamped, I see no reason why an angry unicorn is the best thing to kill over all else (3 or 4 hits to kill one and so highly efficient).

Oops, well likely because I'm on Epic, and that skillgain is still 2x or 3x for Fighting. Tis very easy to get to 80-90 fs on Epic by just hunting.

Am I on crazy pills or does everything just seem better on epic? I decided to check it out; never going back.

I don't believe Epic has increased fight skill gains. Greenish brown bears give me approx 0.007, I recall lately a greenish troll giving around 0.015ish similar to Pingpong, and I've checked when the first thing I've killed was a venerable champ scorp and I gained 0.019 fs exact. I can't remember the last time I've gained more than 0.02x for any animal kill since passing 80ish fs, and it's a bit worse now.

Um, at MR-E, the greenish trolls give me about .01 - .025 each depending on age, FS gain there is insanely fast.

Hrm I recal when Rolf effectively capped Fighting gain from pve at 70 back when Chaos was still the only Wild server. The whole idea was to encourage more pvp by making it the only effective way to get higher Fighting.

Such pve gain runs completely counter to this. Wonder if he changed his mind or its a missed result of the changes to epic skillgain.

Fix bisons, they have a stupid amount of armor.

Are you kidding me? That means great weapon skill gains

Uh, unless it has changed recently on the Freedom cluster, weapon skill gain is based on damage, not hits.

A noob with 20 fs and decent armor and weapons (30ql ) can kill a spider but hasn't a prayer against a troll yet the spider gives better fs and weapon skill gain than the troll, (even at 50 fs).

My current vyn priest was killing spiders and even lava spiders before going premium but facing a troll he would be dead in 3 whacks.

It did use to work that way until there arose too many issues with people using allnighter afk chisel-on-a-pig sessions. Now its reliant on the damage.
