Since we've been accused of "stealing with premeditation" we feel we should explain what really happened.

First of all, we have been playing for 2 months now, so we might not know all the ropes yet.

Anyway, yesterday Daikari went to explore and found a decayed place, with a few unlocked BSBs left.

Ofc we thought it's another of those places that used to belong to a player who left the game and let his deed run out.

So i grabbed a cart and drove over to save some of the items that would be very useful to us.

After a few minutes of loading meat in the cart (i didnt think of taking any barrels or chests), it was full and we were about to leave when this guy showed up.

We honestly thought this guy was trying to chase us away because he wanted to keep all the loot for himself and just made up that story.

But we left anyway, not wanting to get in a fight over some cooked meat.

As many pointed out in the other threads, we didnt do anything wrong, we certainly didnt "premedidate" to steal other player's belongings and the way that player aggroed us didnt leave any chance to have a reasonable conversation where everyone can explain themselves.

They put us now on KOS list, which is fine i guess, that belongs as well to the game mechanics.

Anyway, we'll let the community decide whether we are thieves or not.

All of this over some lousy meat really? I will happily pay Reign for the meat if he would like on behalf of our village. Your reputation is everything and I don't want to see ours tarnished over some meat. As others have said a simple padlock would have solved the problem. If you were disbanding the deed and starting another you would know that your items would be at risk and should have taken steps to secure them. I may have bias since I know Techna but still I work hard for what I have in the game and try to protect it.

Technas post is pretty much how it was. As i get tired of grinding skills i get on a horse and run around a bit exploring. That day it seems i was unlucky and found a recently disbanded deed ( learned the day after that it disbanded at 5 and i was there at 7 as the conversation shows). When i came there it showed every sign of being neglected and abandoned. Stone fence around full of holes, items in piles all around clearly looking like chests having decayed. No sign of any building. And as most people i go and check the FSB and there is meat. Of course i would wanna save that. And that is pretty much what happened before Techna got there.

Update:

i had a very friendly conversation with Reign today and we both got a chance to explain the situation from our point of view.

All is good now and they are going to take us off the KOS list.

This is a happy ending and i thank Reign for PM'ing me.

I think they didn't do anything wrong. There was no deed, and it all looked decayed. Technically and speaking in Wurm terms they didn't 'steal' nor use force to get to the items. It was all there for grabs. That's legit. That Reign didn't secure the place is his mistake; it's even on the Wiki pages for new players written to ALWAYS secure your belongings! And I think he could have been calmer and better in explaining himself in local; to be honest I don't really get what he is saying. But that can be just me. Of course if they would have known the details, that it was in fact Reigns just-disbanded deed to restructure, it's morally wrong to go on and pretend like nothing happened. And they didn't. So I think this matter is well solved.

I think both parties will look twice in the future then doing equal actions.

I took the side of my friend, because I believed it's the right thing to do here. I admit, I didn't know at a time, that it was over "just" some meat. However what does that change exactly? If I did know everything regarding this particular matter, I would probably approach them privately first, perhaps it would've been resolved that way, perhaps not.

In the case it wasn't, I would do exactly the same thing, even if some wood scraps were involved. Next time this happens, I will also do the same thing or even more. There is nothing I won't do for those I respect.

After skimming these trivial rebuttals I have come to the conclusion that all of you are a bunch of little girls.

You argue about who was right or wrong in a game world with coded game rules that allowed an event to transpire. Doing so in a public forum is degrading to your own characters and is quite uninviting to new players. Either make a suggestion to the developers on how to improve the game, or accept whatever happened and carry on.
