Posted December 12, 2008 Will a cave colapse and cave-in if not used? If a cave is not used or if anybody has not entered the cave for a x amount of time will it just colapse to a rock tile again? I've seen a few rock tiles that look like it use to be entrance to a cave. I've been able to prospect it but not sure if a Mine door (rock) is able to let you prospect or not. I'm kind of looking for info on this to see how abandoned mines work after x amount of time.
Posted December 12, 2008 Yes, caves collapse eventually, including entrances.
Posted December 12, 2008 but does a abandoned mine collapse faster then a active one?
Posted December 12, 2008 but does a abandoned mine collapse faster then a active one? I believe so yes, I think the timer is reset whenever someone passes the/a tile. Which is why a single tile "mine" collapses faster, since no one usually enters except animals.
Posted December 12, 2008 would a mine door act as any kind of support preventing the opening from closing? I have one blocking my terraforming and would put a door on it to stop the crossing so it closes.
Posted December 12, 2008 Hmm dont know if doors act akin to the support beams. I would assume they dont, but havent been playing for a few.
Posted December 15, 2008 Doors dont really act as anything other than doors, I had an entrance collapse while a mine door was in place. Mined it out again, made a door with the shards
