Posted December 12, 2008 Ok here's why mr-h should recieve a map dump now. 1. The other servers have it. 2. The coast is saturated already. 3. Help people plot journeys into less inhabited in-land areas. 4. Allows people to be completley certain that they have no close neighbours. 5. Allows the players of MR-H to finally be able to find and pick a spot on the map-dump to settle. 6. Premium server should have the same or more privelages than already existing non premium servers, as JK-H being a free server already has a map-dump I would class that as a privelage over the premium server which is not rational anymore as mr-h has already been altered heavily by players on the coast. Posted December 12, 2008 A map dump doesn't have to be a benefit, it depends on the person. Some like to explore without knowing what the area look like from a map (sure, you could say that they just shouldn't look at it then, but some people just can't resist to look at it a few times, and then after that their fun in exploring has decreased by quite a bit because they just couldn't resist to check it out a few times), so for them it wouldn't be a benefit at all, it would be the opposite. For others who like to have a map, so they know where they are going, it would indeed be a benefit. so looking at it objectively, you cannot say that a map dump is a benefit. Posted December 13, 2008 Can I suggest that we get an announced date for the map dump so that anyone working on or wanting to make a raod or other mapped structure will be able to plan and motivate themselves to do it before that date? Although a map dump would be better then just a large white trace of it no offense to Kinoss of course. edit: what i think WOULD be nice is a map dump, which people can edit and add project of work to instead like adding new roads and such, like the jk home janitor map Are you the op?, anyway its called editing the picture yourself and sending it to the person who updates the wiki map (Kinoss) in a personal message with your town/roads/projects detailed on it for him to add to the original. And the current mr home map already has these features. yourd be surprised just how many roads there acctually are on the map, and theres KV tunnel as well, that magically appeared over 2 months of mining lol. In justification of why that makes sense, I'd like to point out the Weed did a fantastic job of paving a 3 tile wide road that is approx 300 tiles long and that it only took him about 3 days.
