So if you become a follower of vynor you get skill bonus

Recommended Posts

So i have an alt that i'm making a vynora preist but why wouldn't I do the same for my main just to get a 10% bonus?  There has to be a catch somewhere that i'm not seeing.

from wiki

Followers of Vynora will get a 10% skill gain bonus if they have at least 20 faith and 10 favor.

allways remember, the wiki is made by players and can be a great help, but its not infallible.

as for changing it, request a wiki acct and fix it yourself if it offends you that much.

I don't remember where seeing it, but AFAIK the bonus is 10% at 40 faith. As Nubcaek says, the skillgain bonus for followers of Vynora is just a baseless myth.

If by baseless you mean direct quote from Rolf, sure.

<SwedishPhoenix> Rolf, can you explan the requirements for the vynora skillbonus?

<rolf> you need more than 20 faith and 10+ favor

<Ketza> do you have to be under the influence of an altar?

<rolf> no

Chances are he was talking from memory in both cases, so neither is fully reliable. What does the code actually do? We don't know.

Exactly what I meant indeed.

Damn me for being a forum lurker, not an IRC lurker. ;D

10% would be quite substantial at high skill, and I haven't noticed any differences when switching religions various times. Not terribly scientific, but I think I would have noticed it if it existed.

It would be nice if Rolf Posted in here and answered this debate once and for all.

Fo followers are supposed to get a stamina regean bonus at more than 20 faith and 10 favor.  I've only ever bothered testing a Fo priest under less than ideal conditions before a server restart.  And when I've converted from Fo to Libilia and it seemed to be there, but again less than ideal conditions because I didn't think about it at the time.

As such the easiest way to confirm or deconfirm is to take two accounts one a follower of Fo one a follower of something else.  Get both with similar characteristics and both starved and thirsted out of their wits.  Then wait and see who gets stamina first and by how much (30% should be the bonus).

This is pretty much the only follower bonus that is legitimently measurable.  As such you can test the mechanics under any condition (in favor, out of it, in another gods favor, in an enemy gods favor, on mycelium, anything else you can think of, and food bonuses might play a factor as well).

well technically only priests can have greater than 20 skill. (not equal to 20 but greater) So both quotes say the same thing (!)

You mean only non premium priests can have over 20 skill in something vrs other non premiums.

all players, prem or not can get 30 faith.
