Pcg Have Not Forgotten Us!

Recommended Posts

So. I was reading the latest copy of PCG today, and was reading this article:

Flicked to the next page, and this ugly sight bequeathed me:

Bah. Typical, Minecraft gets the attention. And as if to make matters worse:

LIES!! :(

Then I turned the page:

:D

So PCG HASN'T forgotten us!! Woop!! Being featured in the UK's largest gaming magazine (which happened to be the magazine that actually got me playing Wurm in the first place) is great. Also, Avatar of Libila slayers from somewhere on a freedom server were in the pic:

If a PCG'er does read this thread... I'd like to say a big thankyou. Small indie games need every bit of support they can get - and the fact that you wholly endorse indies is why I've read the mag without fail for 6+ years and indies are why I love PC gaming on a whole. :D

However, Wurm Online should be number 1 on your list. :P

22nd!?

I know :(

Minecraft is hardly a laptop game lol, Voxels make it run slow. And even then Wurm needs to be trimmed down unless you have a modernish laptop.

In case you're interested, the list was:

1. Anachronox

2. Civilisation 4

3. Solium Infernum

4. Magic: The Gathering

5. Frozen Synapse

6 Spacechem

7. Planescape: Torment

8. Defcon

9. Braid

10. Baldur's Gate 1&2

11. Torchlight

12. Battle for Wesnoth

13. Minecraft (yuck)

14. Spelunky

15. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

16. Worms Reloaded

17. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2

18. Football Manager 2012

19. Sins of a Solar Empire

20. Unity of Command

21. Xcom

22. Wurm Online

23. Realm of the Mad God

24. Trackmania Natiosn Forever

25. Doom

What amazes me is that World of Goo isn't on that list... it's not my personal choices (except for Wurm and Worm, of which Worm is epic btw) as the list should have more puzzle based stuff. And Doom at the end would be so hard to play on a trackpad lol.

However... scroll down to 56: http://www.pcgamer.c...-of-all-time/5/

Is it just me, or on that second list is there a game that has never had a permanent dev team of more than 3 beating games either not on the list or on the list and with huge teams? Silent Hunter 3 was 70ish on there and it's one of my all time faves, yet Wurm is ahead by a good amount :D

That's an UK mag, so Football = Soccer. Which is the most popular sport. It had to be somewhere on that list.

Looking forward to a day we don't have to spit on minecraft to feel good about ourselves and our game.

However, this is a good find, and a good list - I plan to check a few of those out!

I'd love it if Notch never left too... x)

The games are so similar yet so different that some competition (and banter) is pretty inevitable.
