Hi there,

I don't know if this is covered elsewhere, but if you're like me you may not be aware of this possible error:  "MSVCP100.dll missing"

There is a simple fix:  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=5555  (downloads the missing files).

This has happened on both Win 7 & 8 64-bit and once I've run this "patch" the CoinLab system then runs fine.

Hello everyone!  I've been really busy with other Coinlab business as well as fixing the issues you have all been having with the pool.  There was an issue, now fixed, which was causing our server to delay delivering you all your Iron.  Now I will answer questions!

Hey there guys @ Coinlab. The client I downloaded works like a charm, except for the warning and the low rate I'm getting.

The warning is : Your compute rate is 2.79 MH/s. This is not fast enough to earn credits on our system.

The Est. Rate is : 3.87 - 4.01

Are these rates correct? And can I ignore the warning?

We post that warning because your graphics card is mining really slowly.  When it's that slow, you are most likely wasting more energy running your computer than you are making back in iron.  What kind of graphics card do you have?

how can i update my graphics card please give my the like becuse im getting 5i/h

You would need to buy a new one :/.  I do not recommend buying one specifically for this, because even a top of the line GPU will soon earn very very little.  http://www.extremetech.com/computing/154456-one-bitcoin-by-the-numbers-is-there-still-profit-to-be-made

It should be fixed now!  All of the iron you had earned during that time should be transferred over by now.

Thanks for that!  Generally those files are installed when you update your graphics card, but if not that fix is good to know.

It was after I updated my system (a new custom build) so it's not always with the GC.  Apparently it's common with Steam users (it's where I got the original info from).  Glad to be of some help.

That's low-ish.

I make 300/hr on a mid-end radeon rig.

also, my iron isn't being delivered.  I ran all last night, started at 52k iron and ended with 52k iron.

Looks like they are having an issue with the pool servers again which also impacts coin delivery

so I just downloaded the wurm mining client last night, let it run all night, it says I made 293 irons, but there is nothing in my account ingame. possibly I am doing something wrong?

What does it mean when it says connecting to compute pool?

it means that the server is having problems and the coinlab program will not get any work from it

if the program is working as in the totals move up and you can see yourself on the coinlab leader board

but the irons have not ben put into your wurm bank they do show up in the end

yesterday nothing went into my wurm bank but this morning the coins have showed up

My issue remains unanswered.  The coin miner application keeps choosing my low QL video card instead of my NVIDIA GTX card.  I already instructed the laptop to use the high performance card thru the NVIDIA Control Panel but the program insists to use the onboard one.  Please help.

I have now tried the coinlab miner and as for some numbers, it is a little disappointing.  But here is some analysis below for my system:

System: AMD Phenom II Hex-Core 1045T 2.7 GHz ,8 GB Ram, Windows 7 64-bit

Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 560 1GB 256-bit GDDR5

I'd say my system is mid-range and I get 80 iron an hour with this setup.  Given there are 10,000 iron in one silver, that means it would take me 10000/80 or 125 hours to get one silver.  This means in an average month with 30 days, I would need to leave my system on for 4 hours and 10 minutes on average every day, to get one silver.  That is a lot of time and electricity for one silver.   You can buy 10 silver for 16 euros, or in USD around $20 dollars, so around $2 dollars per silver.  This means on average if your computer is similar to mine you need to run it for 125 hours to get the equivalent of $2 dollars.

I won't make a universal judgement on this since the idea of both bitcoins and distributed computing are ones I favor, but you need to make a judgement on your own if its right for you. As one commenter said if you are in a dorm or at your parents house etc, then you really have nothing to lose.  But if you live on your own like me and pay your own bills, then you will need to decide if running your computer and having the graphics card utilized at full rate with higher electricity consumption for 125 hours is worth more or less than $2 dollars (1 silver in-game).  I think for me its not.  I would have to really exhaust  my computer and run it for 1250 hours, wearing down my graphics card, hard drive, cpu, power supply etc, just to pay for one months premium which is 10 silver.

I often times leave my computer on because I dont want to turn it off and on all the time when I step out for a bit.  I may continue to utilize the miner in those situations so may end up with around .5 to 1 silver extra a month from doing this, since my comp would be on anyway.  But I would wary of leaving my comp on all day and night for this payout rate.  Overall I think if I was looking to monetize my time to get in-game silver I would rather just do an odd job for an hour for 10 bucks or just cut back on my regular expenses say, 50 cents a day and have 15 dollars at the end of the month.

So just my opinion, hope this info is useful.

AMD Radeon HD6850 1gb DDR5 (default settings)

I never run the miner on turbo only on fast or polite when doing other things - fast can run the card up to 77c. (within acceptable limits on the card but why push it harder).

I seem to average around 220 iron / hr per the miner app (drops to 180 when i'm browsing the web and such, and I turn it to polite while playing Wurm)

I don't always leave it on but assuming I did: 220 / hr * 24 hr = 5,280 iron / day, 5280 * 7 = 36,960 iron / week - so 3.7 max silver a week.

I guess I need to look up the power consumption of the card and my elec rates and do some more math.

rest of the system specs:

Windows 7 64 bit

Intel i5-2380P @ 3.10

MSI-7750 mb

16 gb ram

Can you disable your integrated one through the bios?

Wow and here I was thinking my Nvidia GeForce was rather up to date..  Seems like yours does much better for this type of processing though since your getting irons at 3x the rate as me almost.

Nvidia cards suck for this type of work. That's where ATI cards really shine (although with the advent of highly specialised cryptographic systems, graphics card calculation is pretty much dead).

I have mined about 2500 iron but I don't see it anywhere in my bank. Where does it go once you mine it? Sorry if off topic a bit but I didn't want to make a thread just for this.
