The deed is still there. However, if he attacks you, you will automatically target him provided you don't already have something else targeted.

Also in future try doing events like this at 7pm GMT - on a day like a Saturday or a Sunday that time favours all major Wurm timezones - whereas the time this event was set to only really worked in the US, with it being early morning for most of Europe.
