I'll be honest. I like them but I also hate them.

The new model has a nice clean line that makes it look more technologically advanced than the previous model. It woulld be Great for a more advanced building type.

But I prefer the buttressed look of the old model. It makes the houses seem cruder and more hand built.

The new texture has a nice clean brick line. Again great for a more advanced structure type, but is too dark.

How many times have you heard people new to Wurm claiming that they can hardly see anything.

Even with my gamma at x2 to get decent clarity in day time, the new texture makes the Wurm world feel drab, dull and lifeless.

I seriously dislike the dullness of hue and rigid linearity of the new building models and textures.

The inside of the buildings is even worse. They are depressingly perfect and have no homely feel. This change just turned my much loved 6 month old home into a morbidly prison like place.

I'd like to have the option of the new model because it is nice and would be great for buildings that are less domestic.

But as the world wide norm, please go back to what we had.

I like them, but they could be improved, ie; darker colour

I like the new textures. One thing that does seem a little strange is how the stone texture looks really metalic, and the wooden house texture looks white. Apart from that they look great.

Lol Madt and his wurm texture problems.

The main reason was to lower the poly count, now to change the textures or whatever so live with it  :-*

I like the textures, but i think the wood is to bright and the stone to shiny.

I think the wood looks to pale also. Bad case of dry root and sun bleaching.

that's my take.  The better fps is a good thing, but they could use tweaking.  One thing is the wood fences don't match now, and need a new texture, but this may be on the way.

BUT does it really need to match? This is one of my pet hates with wurm, everything is the same. There are no differences in any texture. If its wood it has that one texture for everything. Brick.. the same for everything. It gets annoying to see everything looking the same. GIVE US SOME DIFFERENCE please. :)

I like the look of the textures themselves, but agree that the wood has too much of a grey tinge to it, perhaps a brighter more vibrant color.

The stone houses' wouldn't be so bad if they kept the same wood look in the top part and the doors.

That lower (claimed) poly count is actually causing me lag that I did not have previously so I wont be living with it.

If its not fixed soon I will be leaving with it!

Quote train :o.

I've heard something of having a few textures or models for each wall or building, though I can't confirm it's in the works.  Many people agree with you, but I'd think in that case a few matching sets of wood colors would be made.  I'd think it would be randoml or you'd decide to build "small wall A", "wooden fence B".

maybe different textures (models) for different kingdoms, similiar to the current tower guards...

i suggest, 3 different house models example 3 stone house models. and the plan u put down texture is random.

New wooden houses look pretty good except i agree they do have a "drab" feel to them. The stone is also to neat looking BUT i do think they do look good and it's just the shock of change i'm sure i will get used to them in a couple of weeks.

The wood texture is nice, if a little too gray.  The specular reflection is set also too high on both wood and stone.  Moreso on the stone,  this is what causes the shiny appearance and what is causing them to 'wash out' when you get close to them with a light source.

As far as I am concerned the world and building textures have been fine.  Its the creature and player textures that really need attention.  I can understand the urge to 'hold off' on those with the hopes that those models may be improving / changing.  But still...

The other texture aspect that I would like to see implemented would be to have 3 variations of each structure texture.  These would visually reflect an objects damage.  1-33 dmg = Decayed/Abandoned texture variation,  34-66 = Worn / Weathered texture, 67-100 = New / 'currently used' textures.

But do the creature and avatar textures before messing with the 'nice to have' stuff.

I am pretty sure that Wurm doesn't use shaders, so it doesn't have specular reflection.
