general suggestions for epic

Recommended Posts

just a bunch of crap suggestions i made up during world history today instead of doing any actual work

Horses:

I have many suggestions for horses, all focused on pvp:

Make it so moving horses are extremely hard to hit pre-50 archery, but if a calf-shot is hit they go at approx half speed, along with this they are effected by terrain, and with horse shoes they are effected less.

Or

Reduce horse natural spawns to nearly nothing, make horses consume MUCH more crops/grass then they do now, requiring big-off deed horse pens to be able to keep many horses, right now i see over 50 horses in a small 10x7ish pen.

If horses are hard to keep, less will be made because it's overloading work, and people can't rely on natural spawning and have allthesehorses, horses will be rare and used only when needed.

Make the trait system the same, but with a slot for color, 5 good traits, and 3 bad traits.

meaning you can have 3 different bad traits and 5 good traits, plus a color, this is so horses aren't TOO weak and even if a horse has a bad trait, it can still have nice traits, and will stop the habit of (lol 1 bad trait? KILL IT)

aswell as this, make it so birdles have a use now, you can atatch up to 5 ropes to a birdle (not realistic but i don't care), which can then be used to lead animals, however, the leader is the horse, meaning you can't ride them after your horse dies, not only this but birdles would slow the horse to 10km/h on all terrain.

along with this, you may no longer lead while riding an animal

this effectively makes it so if you need to transport animals, it's still possible and actually a bit easier, and nerfs taking multiple horses into pvp hardcore

Gatehopping

__________________

Make it so guards don't open gates anymore.

When a person passes a gate, it allows anyone nearby (enemy, ally without permissions, etc) to enter for a few seconds as long as the gate is visually open, when it closes, it's locked to all others again, Same applies to mine-doors.

basically make the client-sided opening of gates, server-sided, and pretty much demolishes gatehopping, but allows retreat if you do it early enough.

give low stone walls, wooden fences and woven fences a "hop over" command, which after 2 minutes teleports you to the other side of the fence.

same with iron, but you take damage if you do so. (depends on ql of fence)

stone walls, fences and woven fences aren't supposed to be for defense, enough said.

Local

______________________

(enemies only)

make it so if you're not in VISUAL range of a character where you can see them, you cannot see them in local.

Remove seeing others in local from a cave completely, unless you're in the cave and can see them.

you can still hear them if they're doing an action, however.

this is basically stealth mode without the impossible way to do it atm

I had an idea for horses, but it may be "too much."  I was thinking, for cared for animals, allow them to respawn for a certain amount of coin at a token or something like a player does.

Ok first off no to local distance changes work on improving stealthing by perhaps having a skill or something to increase time and speed.

Too many changes for horses how about make it so you can't have 4 while in combat and release all the ones you are leading.

And no to gate changes as well he just made it easier to train lockpicking.

you can still gatehop and interrupt picklocking

and i added the bridle thing because people would complain that they have a massively hard time to move horses or something, plus that suggestion is pretty much there, people can't lead while riding horses, they have to "hitch" other animals to the horse

why does that make any more sense then my suggestion then

not only is that dumb because they can still hardcore abuse the gatehopping untill you're done, if you ever pick the lock anyways, but my suggestion is still a better way
