Posted November 10, 2008 Please allow things like large chests and barrels to be picked up with a take command only when they are empty so that they may be moved quicker, and built in different locations. Having them required to be empty will mean they cannot be picked up and placed in a fire for example if they are locked. When they are dropped, you are able to push them around as normal. The same system where things can be taken and pushed would be welcome for statues, beds, looms and archery targets. They should be too heavy to carry around for long, and you should only move at a snails pace, so that they mustbe transported by cart. Would also help lag I think, if beds, targets, chests, barrels, statues, coffins, looms could all be recycled from old decaying settlements. Beds are difficult to make for a new player, and there are loads abandoned in the wilderness for example. Sorry if this has been posted before. Posted November 10, 2008 Yeah I've built a fair share of large barrels and large chests in my house, if I decide to leave wurm I'd most definitely try to not leave a mark on the landscape but there is nothing I can do with large chests/barrels except let them decay. Posted November 10, 2008 Also add locks for all the items, so can lock them down so they cant be moved even with the 'move' commands OR add ability to 'plant' them (once positioned) with simular restrictions to signs / lamps but i think some of the best part of this is so that some noob will be able to take the chests and beds just sitting there clogging up the server and put them in their new little shack houses. like he said, chests should not be moved unless it is empty, so just put one item in it and lock the chest and its not going anywhere. also, who would have a bed outside? obviously not being used, so it should be taken by the newb player. also, i can easily carry all the items that make up a bed without being too restricted, so picking up a bed should be easy. the same goes for large chests and barrels. ---EDIT--- I've suggested this in another post, but ill say it here again. we should be given the option to destroy and take apart a large barel/chest and get some of the basic componenets back, but those items would have high damage and most should break when removed, maybe all break meaning that they would just get destroyed, clearing up server space.
