Posted November 8, 2008 We should bring back 'Wurm Court'... I would like to know what kind of people I am dealing with... 'someone' posted about the fact they had been banned and likely it was someone that was using their account because he gave access to a ton of people... So... was the thread moved or deleted because it might implicate certain people? This can be done through an IP check to find the responsible party... not to say the owner doesn't have some responsibility, afterall claiming to have 'tried macroing in the past but it didn't work out well'... hmmm, wonder where things would be had things worked out well for him... Honestly, court proceedings are typically made public, at least eventually. This lets people see that what they do has consequences... It also lets people know what say... someone they thought they could trust is really capable of... Karma... They say they "tried it.. but who hasen't?" I would hazard a guess that that is the same attitude that led them to believe their trusted friends are the ones who haven't... I think this is odd that they think it is "OK to try it" but if only you don't get caught? It is possible that one of those trusted people got caught. Also as far as "Who hasen't?" I think that would be the majority of people... people that beilieve the gains they make in their lil RPG world should be earned not bought or hacked. I do believe this should be investigated. many towns have a rule against macroing and I believe they too would want this investigated. A town that does not hold by it's rules and make attempt to enforce them is a liability to their kingdom... I am sure most would agree. Wurm has rules agianst Macroing and they could likely easily track the IP and see what other accounts are on that IP and then determine what actions to take. Do I believe a permaban is in order? most know I am not a fan of the permaban hammer... but this is a tough call. first a thorough investigation of who is responsible, what affect the actions had on the game world and characters, actions to be taken against the IP address and related characters. AND actions takin on the shared character... there is alot to consider here. Considering the way they shared your information, it seems that they did not care what happened to thier account... Still.. the info is gone for now and I will respect the FM's by not saying names... though i still believe WURM Court should return and there should be a place to openly discuss these types of things without the post being simply removed... Posted November 8, 2008 As long as a rule is made that you cannot make threads on the forums to try to start arguments relating to someone getting banned. I.e. If for example Billybobman gets banned for macroing. Its against the forum rules to make a thread saying "hahaha good riddence, lets all laugh and start a big argument!" Posted November 8, 2008 Wurm Court was agreed on to be removed, I can not post the reason why, but it was a good decision. The thread was moved by a forum mod for GM review. The ban was a valid ban, all the criteria was met. We do not take bans lightly and don't like to ban, it's just something we have to do. If someone feels they were banned unfairly, they should PM Oracle and not start a thread on the forums. Posts are not deleted, they are moved to another area not open to the public, so all the cards are still on the table. Please let this go, we have all the information and can not share it with the public, it is private to each player and we can not comment on it.
