Posted January 13, 2012 Just a general suggestion, a bit balance related, but mainly qol 1. Allow examine to show the exact amount of favor - i seriously see absolutely no reason why not to. 2. Allow priests to cast multiple times on a gem, untill it's filled to the maximum it can hold (i.e, i have 30 favor, vessel a 50ql gem, it now has 25/50 favor, i vessel again at 15 favor, it now has 35/50, and i do so again at 20 favor, it now has 50/50. However, make it similar to linking, as to only favor above 10 can be used during vesseling (effectively making the minimum requirement to vessel, 15+) 3. Allow priests to "Absorb untill x favor" instead of what appears to be last max favor tick absorb, i.e if you right click a gem with 50 favor, you can Absorb until 10, absorb until 20, absorb until 30, etc. mainly suggestion to allow some people with ocd as myself to max a gem's favor (annoying if i can't, quality of life mainly suggestion) and to prevent excess favor being absorbed and ql of gem destroyed when using a bit of favor. Posted January 13, 2012 #1, showing the amount of favor in gem.. why not. #2, I personally like it how gems cannot be revesseled to fill more. The favor you get out of the gem is 2x of what you vesseled into anyway, so filling your favor pool out of even small gems (or getting enough) is easy and just a matter of gem QL used. #3, See above. Using varying qualities of gems previously fully vesseled can be its own minigame within playing priest to manage the gems, being able to use small amounts of the gems beats the purpose of having good gems and low gems mixed. And gem can be used multiple times if favor pool is topped on use, so there is no waste either. I see this suggestion as a shortcut to make gems usage simply easier, not really an improvement. Preparing for a raid or combat situation by filling up gems I know its tedious to sacrifice materials enough for a big gem vessel if favor pool and gem QL are close to each others which means its delicate business to sacrifice just to reach the top of favor pool and not oversac too much. Suggested change would make it possible to utilize the low favor pool regen ticks being so high the gem could be revesseled in spamming fashion to add very tiny bits of favor and not solid minimum of 2.5ql lost for each vesseli = would reduce the value of gems since channeling training on them would become alot more effective = would affect enchant prices as priests all over the world could train in channeling faster than before. Posted January 14, 2012 However, make it similar to linking, as to only favor above 10 can be used during vesseling (effectively making the minimum requirement to vessel, 15+) the rest looks fine from what I saw but the portion I quoted might have an issue. Raybarg also has a point on being able to fill it up like that. For the last two years or so priests have been able to grind quite well on vesseling since it's a very low favor spell for good gain. So it can be cast often and thanks to that you don't waste a lot of sleep bonus on waiting. If instead only favor above 10 can be used then that slows down channeling gain from vesseling, you will need more time and more sleep bonus to get the same gain compared to in the past. Wouldn't that widen the gap between existing priests who already have done this grinding, and new priests who still need to do this grinding?

Wouldn't that widen the gap between existing priests who already have done this grinding, and new priests who still need to do this grinding? That was my initial impression - you'd cripple the ability of new priests to gain channeling like was done in the past. My personal technique is to cast at low levels, so my gems typically have 3, 3.5, or 4 favor stored, and I name each gem with this value. It doubles when the gem is used. Then when I am enchanting, I use whatever combinations of sac materials* and gems to top off my favor before casting. This allows me the functions of OP's suggestions 1. and 3. Automating 1. would be nice, renaming gems is a pain, but I could pass on the rest. * I use mooring rope for sacrificing, and sort the ropes as they are made into 6 bsbs. Using the ql averaging ability of the bsb, I can get very close to the ql for a rope to give specific amount of favor. So I have a ready supply of ropes worth 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 favor each. Posted January 14, 2012 Gems under 10ql would still be unable to be stored favor, so you would still be able to cast on with 5 favor.
Posted January 14, 2012 I don't like it. Too much Rolf work for too little game gain. Also, it enables every spell to be cast with exactly the right amount of favor. Thus, keeping the priest on the maximum favor gaining cycle. i.e. every cast will end up with the priest at approximately zero favor, and then poof, up to 5, then suck on the gem a bit for the next cast, and the back to zero.
