Gems considered full and cannot be vesseled

Recommended Posts

I've got two gems, A 65ql sapphire and a 75ql diamond

i had vesseled the 65ql sapphire, and i know for a fact it wasn't a full vessel (i had about 30 favor at the time)

attempt to vessel it shows this:

[18:16:52] The gem can hold no more power right now.

examine shows

[18:17:06] A shiny sky blue sapphire. It emits quite a lot of power.

I assume it actually was full (probably isn't) and left it at that.

Now, earlier i had attained a 75ql diamond and vesseled it with about 20 favor

[18:18:43] A glittering diamond. It emits power.

though, in attempt to fill it up more (having about 32 favor)

[18:19:06] The gem can hold no more power right now.

Seems as if they're bugged and cannot be filled to brim, which they could be before.

1 - 10 It emits faint power.
10 - ? It emits some power.
? - 50 It emits power.
51 - 100 It emits quite a lot of power.
101 - 150 It emits very much power.
150+ It emits huge amounts of power

Meaning, a fully filled 75ql gem would show the 150+ message, and the 65ql would show 101-150.

You can only vessel completely empty gems.

Filling a gem to the 'brim' would need you to have enough favour for that, otherwise you only fill it partially.

You can use that partial fill, even in multiple 'use's. And once empty you can fill it again unless it is lower than 10ql.

I don't see anything like a bug there.

It used to be that you could make multiple casts until the gem was "actually full". The same message would be received at that point. This was changed long ago only allowing you to cast on a gem with no held power.

Ah, didn't know it got changed (don't tend to vessel gems)

Aye, you only have one shot with usable (non channeling grade, over 10ql ones) ql ones.  If you have 30 favor and hammer a 60ql gem with it, you'll only dump 25 into it (5 favor for the cast itself) and be hosed and unable to "top it off".
