Posted November 4, 2008 Hey I was looking at macros, and I understand that a macro that sits there and automatically makes bricks/tenons/farms/mines etc etc would be bad. However, would it be so bad to have a button that starts making a single brick? So instead of having to go through several menus, I could hit numpad 1 to make a brick, assuming I have my chisel activated. It seems like this would work very well with the tool belt. Or perhaps expand the tool belt so that you can put actions in it as well.
Posted November 4, 2008 You mean binding actions to buttons? No thank you, that would make things way too easy,
Posted November 4, 2008 Yes, and entirely too much less annoying.
Posted November 4, 2008 Yes, and entirely too much less annoying. Was that english? That would be to easy. I prefer going through all those menus.
Posted November 4, 2008 You mean binding actions to buttons? No thank you, that would make things way too easy, Agreed. There would end up being too much clutter on the servers because people wouldn't get as annoyed with the work and just continuously create items.
Posted November 4, 2008 I can't tell if it's sarcasm or not, you can't really get it through text very well
Posted November 4, 2008 Listen, i have a very relaxed life, i come to Wurm to stress myself out, its my only form of stress. Dont take that away from me by making it too easy to play....
Posted November 4, 2008 You mean binding actions to buttons? No thank you, that would make things way too easy, So clicking the mouse 2 times compared to pressing one button makes a difference? This game ain't hard at all, just takes time and patience so don't know where you get it making it "way to easy" from. ;D
Posted November 4, 2008 no way the average wurm players want rsi dont they?.

The method used to perform actions in the game is a part of the game too.
Posted November 4, 2008 This is a waist of time for the developers, because one it's not hard to go through 2 menus and we already have too many items this will create even more clutter

The method used to perform actions in the game is a part of the game too. Its not hard to click a mouse button two times to create a brick :-\ . Its an annoyance and is not needed and would still put everyone on an equal ground of playing the game. I don't agree with macros as in you leave the computer running and go swimming. I do however agree with putting it on a hotkey so you can press it and then switch off to a book or another page to read as in its boring to talk to people over the internet or just stare at the blue bar fill up. Posted November 4, 2008 No way, this is a terrible idea. I come to Wurm to get some stress into my already stressful life, and I get what I ask for.

Posted November 4, 2008 NO, we are not going to add macro support. YES, we are going to add alternatives to mouse clicking. Does that make everyone happy?
Posted November 4, 2008 Sounds good as long as the alternative methods take less time instead of more Maybe macros are a bad word... what I meant was key binds.
Posted November 4, 2008 YES, we are going to add alternatives to mouse clicking. Joystick support? No no wait... TrackIR? That'd be awesomeness. Now Wurm can give you neck strain too!
Posted November 5, 2008 Hey I was looking at macros, anyone else see something wrong with this statement?

Call it whatever you want, but the clicking-effort is an intended obstacle for crafting in Wurm. It apparently has the intended effect of making crafting that SHOULD be tedious, tedious in Wurm. Also, each second you are performing an action while not actually playing (I.E looking at the screen), you are cheating. If you don't enjoy Wurm, maybe you shouldn't play? Posted November 5, 2008 No way, this is a terrible idea. I come to Wurm to get some stress into my already stressful life, and I get what I ask for. If we add this in, and some of the other ideas, we'll get an entirely different audience. I play wurm because it freaks me out, and is full of errors that I normally can solve by myself. No other MMO gives me that. Plus i love being able to play for up to ten minutes after i lose connection.

Bullshat .... 90% of the time i que up 4 actions and then browse some forum or do other shat. If that wasn't the intended purpose of queing up actions the ability should be removed. I'm not gunna watch the screen for 1+ minute while the actions are being performed. Get a life.
Posted November 5, 2008 agree, Erazor, but yeah, having to right click to cue them up it the tedious part... not just say, dig a hundered by having a tiny window, and every few seconds pressing numpad 5.
Posted November 5, 2008 Pressing a button for queuing up a bunch of actions every now and then without even paying attention to the game is exactly what people would be doing. (THAT is what is unfair, I didn't mean just not having your eyes glued to the screen all of the time).
