suggestion:

be able to right click on a boat that is in water, and take a drink, as opposed to stopping the boat, disembarking, drinking, and re-embarking

I use a barrel in the boats hold full of water and some emals, simply fill, place and head out. should last the whole trip. if not make a pitstop to the nearest lake    and fill it up again. But  your idea makes sense too... cept there should be a risk of falling out if you drink, lol
