Posted October 17, 2011 Maybe if we'd had a Mag priest to hand to cazst smite, we'd have had better luck....and a few more 70 fs people too. The smite works on uniques. If you have enough people it'll be dead before you know it. 1# "tournamentassist" is my alt which draged him downhill. 2# try to find people who travel some hours to get no Title and risk there live. 3# No hit with 70fs,50ws,double axecombo(most hitter at the green dragon ), Focuslevel 5,on horse, 20 minutes fight,from behind and not tanking 4# no mag priests available, fo were not used, because he hit like a normal troll 5# only 50% of the registered came also I said to give a "Gatwick sword" to the last hit. Posted October 17, 2011 get a dedicated tank I had no trouble tanking it for around 6 minutes with just a few people bandaging me since it doesn't hit that hard and doesn't have any fire or ground shacking aoe attacks. Most of the people were randomly getting hurt after losing focus or opening themselves to attack. Some stam regeneration refresh/spells would have helped but after 6 minutes when i went under 5% stam it was obvious we were doing nearly no damage to it. Posted October 17, 2011 All uniques have and always healed wounds within 10 seconds. You need to constantly stack damage on the wounds in order to prevent it healing. Uniques will slowly heal damage off wounds (like Myclium sp?) which is why it's vital to land a high damage smite (im sure it's capped at 15 damage now) first. They have two types of healing (i think), the general 10 minute heal tick on all wounds & it's constant healing over time. I have never really analysed it, but it makes sense. Land a smite first, the troll king will slowly start healing that wound, this is when you stack more and more damage on the body. Hopefully by the time the original smite has healed you have the king wounded enough to balance out it's healing / your damage. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I can't be 100% sure, I know Myclium does the smallest wound first i think, i'm thinking Uniques self healing does the biggest wound first instead. As i said i haven't really did much watching on how it works, i just remember the Red Dragon hunt the smite wound slowly healed (i dunno how much by or how fast). It didn't heal the full wound completely, it reduced it by 0.xx every so many seconds, while that was happening i didn't notice any of the smaller wounds vanishing at the same time. But all this is speculation. In short, The constant healing is always active, but i think it works like Myclium but heals the biggest wound first. Posted October 18, 2011 I understand there are limited number of players allowed to hit the unique at any given time which is why only 70+ fighters are allowed at the more organized dragon/unique kills. Its a waste for someone at say FS34 like myself to take up a dps slot. Problem is.. newer players like myself dont get to participate in community events or have a shot at titles. Interestingly enough, if you look at Bird's logs.. I got in 3-4 good hard hits on TK and was bandaging Serp at the same time. Xallo Brand 2h'ers  Would have been better to get extremely hard. Coming from an EQ/WoW raiding background.. I was wondering how you stop that boss healing mechanic since Wurm has no true stuns. Would it help to have groups of DPS focus on a particular side in these fights? To increase the severity of just a few wounds instead of landing a lot of small ones? Posted October 18, 2011 Ideally that would be perfect, Ardis. But unfortunately you're unable to target body parts on a unique due to hits high Combat Rating, as far as i know your avatar positioning doesn't have an affect on where you randomly hit. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Posted October 19, 2011 Ok, so I'm at work and decided to use my lunch break to have closer look at the combat log rather than my usual self indulgent glance for my name to say 'yay, I hit it'Â I found it quite odd for several reasons and there has got to be something to learn from here, so many things running through my head so I have escaped to 'the quiet room' to ask a few things. ( TMI I know) Ardis being 34FS hit three time and myself at 70 twice, why were these the only 5 hits the TK received? I know there were stronger fighters there (aside from the 2 shield bashes). Ardis mentioned a 2 handed weapon and I also use one, was everyone else using swords? Could it be something as simple as this? Do we need to unleash a large maul/axe frenzy on him? I don't know much about anything but the whole series of events, or non events as it turns out, I find quite curious indeed What can we learn and take from this crazy log to be better prepared next time? Kind of looks like it. I was using a 72ql 64rt long sword in agro, got to max focus, lost my shield, 63+ fs and did nothing but miss and 'no damage/glance off armour'. Posted October 19, 2011 You will find that if you have spam mode on you'll see the "you hit but it deals no damage". So you did under than 0.01 damage to the king. Using bigger weapons (with enough ql) would combat that yes. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Posted October 20, 2011 On spam mode, I've never had "you hit but it deals no damage", but mostly "you miss with your long sword or huge axe" when fighting unique creatures. So Nimbless is a must to fight them. It seems also you miss more when you are diseased or your food/water bar are low. For the record, i think healing ability of all trolls (not only the troll king) has been boosted recently. Last time i fought a normal troll, it healed its two rotten med wounds (>20+ dmg) in the mean time when i was retreating to heal my wounds.
