Help :D

Recommended Posts

Well I need some help. To tell the story first. I have a floppy disk, I have a data recovery system program (need to register to get my file off this floppy disk, I can do this to however its illegal) and I need to get my file (its a txt document) off this disk. Its still there, I checked but its kind of messed up so it won't run on normal floppy drives.

An explanation. "Why the hell are you using a floppy disk anyway!?" Good question. One of my class teachers used it to allow us to store files on and still thinks they are great even if it only holds about 2.5MB.

Now to the part where I need some help. I searched high and low for a free data recovery program for floppy disks. I have found "trails" which do not allow me to withdraw the amount I need off my disk and I do not want to spend $20-39.99 just to get one file off a floppy disk of all things. A full version of (example: BadCopy Pro) a data recovery program would be so nice and if someone could just point out a name of this program if there is such a thing.

If you can help I give you my thanks, if not please feel free to make fun of floppy disks.

Try this perhaps

http://www.deaddiskdoctor.com/index.php?q=1

if it is no good apologise (I only skimmed read it saw floppy, shareware, recover data) but also try search engine for disk(with or without a space here)doctor, throws back many links- I vaguely recollect using actual software named this 'diskdoctor' in the long distant past but as I say its a vague and hazy memory and all I remember is the name.

Thanks! Won't be running it now as I have no floppy drives but will refer back to this at school and get back me files. Thank you for helping.

Others can post some more as well. Wouldn't mind a data recovery program for damn small linux either. Thank you once again :D
