Javaw.exe Java(TM) Platform SE Binary = failing to exit

Recommended Posts

Whenever I log out or quit the game, javaw continues to run and has to be manually terminated.

Happens every time on all characters, prem and non-prem.

I am on Freedom server.

I may be using an old keybindings file. So if the console command that shuts the game down has changed then that could be the problem?

It is yet unknown what exactly causes this bug.

Try disabling pbuffer support in the compatibility tab.

For me there was no error message that I noticed. The executable simply kept running after the game was terminated and its window gone.

Posting here to confirm disabling pbuffer fixed the problem for me.

The problem appears to be a thread that does not close after the game ends.    This is a client bug that must be fixed.

I think I may have said in the other thread that I posted shortly after this one but updating my ATI drivers resolved this issue for me.

This is happening to me I am running win7 64 bit with 6 cpu  and have been having the javaw.exe * 32 running multiple after shutting down game sleep or just with f12

with it doing this it is eating up my CPU performance and also causing me to get very high ping times causing me to call my ISP to try fix the high ping times that have been coming and going that is how i pin pointed the problem...

This has been going on for alot of ppl and seems like there might be more they just don't know what is going on.

there are other post like this 1 http://wurmonline.com/forum/index.php?topic=53067.0

If you turn off Pbuffer support  under the Compatibility tab it will fix the problem

DEVs maybe default this in settings for everyone on the next update to quick fix the problem until the bug is worked out

Thanks, Nyonic
