Renovating Houses

Recommended Posts

A means to change the footprint of a house, without having to completely destroy it. One never knows when they may find themselves needing to expand. New stuff requiring their own tiles as possibilities.

This comes up with multistory housing down the road. Id rather be able to add another story without having to completely rebuild the entire deal.

Good! Have it so when you add on the wall your adding to is destroyed to make the other 3.

Rather the other way around. If you want to expand a building you need to remove the walls at those borders first.

This needs to come n with the same update that supports internal walls. That way you can simply add house-plan tiles onto an existing structure and build build build to your heart's content.

Oh yeah Im fine with having to add additional walls or remove portions as required. Its just the whole current need to completely demolish seems hocky.

Agree as long as it still uses the skill requirments needed to make that extra tile

rolf was in local few days ago,

[16:15:59] <Elwood> rolf, when can we expect walls in rooms for real this time?
[16:21:30] <Rolf> we should solve walls when we solve multi storey i think
[16:21:35] <Rolf> but i can't promise it
[16:21:46] <Rolf> inner walls
[16:21:57] <Rolf> not sure the client supports them really
[16:22:04] <Rolf> we'll see

Such a pain to have to destroy your house just because you want to expand it a bit

I don't get why inner walls are such a problem to implement.

- Makes inner walls a tileborder "item" just like a fence. Buildable only in a finished house (this code exists it's used for sleeping check).

have 4 variants:

- stone wall

- stone door

- wood wall

- wood door.

most of code if not al the code already exists to do this. The models would need a copy from the regular house wall models with some small adjustments.

You're probably missing some information then, there is probably alot more hten simple applying the codes from the outer walls to allow them inside, that is why rolf said he wonders if the client will support it.

What roger said makes sence. There are already tile border objects like tall stone walls and code to check if you are inside a completed house. Combine those 2 and change the skin. Its realy hard to see the problem in implementing it.
