if you have a fenced deed put one egg per tile with a seed.

at our village they mostly decay but from time to time one will hatch.

I have seen farms of 300+ horses, diseased and dieing, Corpses everywere from the horse decay. You guys kill most of those horses, and youll get more Aggro animals, START KILLING! ill give 10c to the first person to kill and bury 7000 horses :P theres like 10k i think :P youd be doing a good deed for prem freedom and deeds everywere, KILL THE NOOBS WITH LOW FS... uhh i mean. Save the bears ;)

So all 7 have hatched..not one chickadee?

Well, that sucks...nothing like 100% fail rates in a game.

Kanton.

My kids and I have gone through hundreds of eggs at this point (stopped counting months ago, when we hit 400) and in the last year, we've had 2 hatch.

I got a chicken here still laying eggs. ill keep the count going and see what it take, well so long as one hatches in this chickens lifespan.

Saw one chick hatch from a miracle egg that someone brought over from GV once. It starved before maturity.

I have hatched more than 20+ eggs on Freedom, but stopped bothering since the effort was not commensurate with the results.

What I did to get eggs to hatch:

I had a 4x8 pen with crops in it, not grass.  One rooster and maybe 3 chickens (moved excess chickens to another field as they matured sine the number of eggs got ridiculous).  Every time the hens laid I would pick up all the eggs, since it seems that the eggs can not be in a pile (with other eggs or anything really).  Place one egg per tile by itself.  If a hen laid on a tile that had an egg, removed the excess eggs and redistributed to other tiles.  Leave seeds wherever there are not eggs.  Wait, with low expectations.

Assumptions (not facts):

I am convinced you need a rooster near the eggs at some point. While the "RL" parallel would make this seem obvious, it may be a stretch for Wurm.

Eggs will hatch if piled up, but never result in a chick.  I have only ever had chicks when the egg was on a tile by itself.

Granted I did not construct sufficient controls to result in any indisputable data, but it was enough for me.  Of course, it is also possible that I am completely insane.
