most well done, emotion dawing, disturbing trailer ever

Recommended Posts

dead island.  must say, very well done trailer, pulls at the correct emotions and builds up nicely

no game really crosses the line into  using children like this one.

rated 18, so hopefully it scares the crap out of ya llike a good zombie game should

Well done indeed. They did go close to crossing that line, and probably did for some.

I don't see the problem. This worshipping of youth and kids is stupid. It's not worse because it has kids in it.

But nice, looks good. Although gameplay video's are usually better to see what the game is actually like.

the only line its crossing is the truth.  :)  A zombie will not discriminate between an adult over a kid their both the same and very much alive.

there are certain social limits to acceptable norms hence why we even have the word "censorship" in the English language and an equivalent word in every other language.

GTA series pushed the lines with allowing the slaughter of police/firemen/national guardsmen in their games.  But did you notice they didn't have children to run over on the streets? Just hookers and anyone who looked over the age of 18 to elderly.  I don't even think they have a school zone in those games.

Have you ever seen a school in a shooter game (other than say F.E.A.R.) full of children that you can bomb or set fire to? no.  Even in F.E.A.R. the school is empty minus a ghost child/woman.

Its not that we as a society worship children, its just a line we have drawn where we go... you know maybe we shouldn't make a game that allows people to fantasize about slaughtering kids.  Or maybe all the game designers and publishers aren't twisted individuals who believe there is a market for that sort of thing.

Honestly, I don't think this game pushes the line.  It's a zombie game, and in zombie logic all who are infected are capable of infecting and killing.  Children for the most part are never seen this way.  They are not seen as capable of amassing armies and trying to take over the world like Battle Field Games, or becoming terrorists ransoming off hostages like COD or CS.  However, zombie'ism is the one legit means to add a child as a villain capable of killing.  Because a zombie is soulless and out to eat brains.  If a puppy gets rabies are you not going to kill it because it is a puppy?  In movies we have children become zombies all the time, and guess what, they are just as vicious if not worse than a full grown man with zombiitis.  And guess what, there is always a pause scene when the "hero" encounters the zombie child where they get a gut check moment... but they always do what needs to be done.

Honestly, if you aren't up for the game because of children, than you pretty much don't understand a Zombie movie or the genre.  It is a survivalist genre meets the Apocalypse.  If you want to survive there are social norms you must put aside or die.  This includes things such as cannibalism, anarchy, and the ability to kill anyone and everyone regardless of age, sex, creed, nationality, religion etc.  A zombie is a zombie.  If you discriminate you die.

and if you actually watch the video it goes backwards and forwards at the same time giving 2 outcomes in the ending.  Either the father saves the child (which happens at the end), or the child becomes a zombie (which is the outcome of the father failing to save the child) seen at the beginning.  The key is the bellhops neck.  One scene it shows the bellhop getting chopped in the neck in the hotel room and the lack of damage to his neck in the doorway, the other is the bellhop getting chopped in the neck in the hallway and the father saving the child.  Granted there is nowhere to escape from their room... so they probably all die either way.

Very well made trailer, but unfortunately as Bostock said it likely won't live up to the same hype in-game.

doesn't really make me interested in the game, but its a well made trailer. from reading the description, it sounds kinda like a l4d spinoff.

yup, probably won't live up to the hype, thats what trailers are suppose to do, draw you in to go and buy it, for example movie trailers, they mostly look really good and than when you go and actually watch the film it never is that good, oh and like food at mcdonalds or burger king their food in the commercials always look better than what you get when you actually go there yourself and order...
