Everything in US history before the year 1902 is a lie. Its completely made up, forged almost entirely from a copy of 20th century history. That's the conspiracy here.

The letter y is a consonant when it is the first letter of a syllable that has more than one letter. If y is anywhere else in the syllable, it is a vowel.
