Looking for Star Trek Online Buddy pass!

Hey guys. I am looking for someone with a buddy pass for Star Trek online. I really want to try it out but not want to blow $50 if it sucks. I know the reviews say it does but I would really like to find out for myself. Lemme know if ya got one you be willing to part with. Thanks.

I subscribe...not sure what pass you mean. There is a referral program, but I see no mention of it coming with a trial period?

There is a demo if you want to try it. It is fairly limited I believe...only the tutorial and like the first mission.

EDIT: Apparently the referral keys are the same as a demo except the obvious benefits to the referrer if you choose to purchase it...if you're interested in the demo I'd gladly give ya a key

Aaaand I just read about the buddy keys. Guess I missed out on them. Sorry, hopefully someone else has one left

k well i tried out the demo like you said but it only allows you to do the tutorial and doesent actually give you a view of the full gameplay. Thanks for the replay tho.

Yeah, the demo is kinda of lacking I suppose...especially at 8gigs

Can I ask your opinion of the game based upon that though? In my experience (mainly beta), thats a pretty good representation of the game. Run missions, blow stuff up, repeat. Not sure how it is at higher ranks, but hey...if you enjoy the combat its worthwhile

Based off the demo tutorial they give you it looks like the game could be really cool however they dont give you enough to try to know for sure and that leads me to believe they dont want you to know until after spending $50 that it actually isnt very good. That's why i want to try a buddy key. But thats just my opinion.

Well i got a buddy key however it appears to be exactly the same as the demo. I guess they dont want to show you the real gameplay before you buy it for fear you wont buy it. That kinda worries me. Oh well thanks anyways guys.

The FAQ on their forums says the buddy key offers unrestricted play for 5 days, so perhaps you just got a referral like I was offering.

Guest Passes - These came in the retail box for the CE. They have no content restrictions and allow you to play the game for 10 days. These do not count towards the referral program.

Buddy Keys - We had a promotion where you could generate a buddy key to give to a friend, which would allow them to play the game for 5 days with no content restrictions. These do not count towards the referral program.

Referral Keys - The new referral program allows you to send referral keys to your friends. These keys allow your friend to play the game for an unlimited amount of time, but there are restrictions on content. These count as referrals.

So you may want to  take Rudies offer up if he has one
