I love it here

Hello all! Apologizing for formatting/punctuation beforehand because I'm on mobile posting this. My name is Mayonaeius and I have been on Guidance for ~2 weeks. I absolutely love this game and it's community. My first day I met the Confusing Churrasquinho (hope I spelled your name right fam) who gave me the basic instructions for using Wurmpedia, accepting the starter quests, and creating a cart. We split ways after those few hours and I struck out on my own! I made my way to Seal Lake, dropping my rent and a little shack down along a road made of slate, caught some fish, and baked a nice casserole. On my way back I ran into a farmer named Lukedankwalker repairing his fences. I stopped and asked if he could use a hand and he taught me how to repair fences and improve them. After chatting for a while, I offered my services to him permanently as a farmhand, tending to the fences and fields. He accepted, giving me access to his fields and a sweet mine. He then flattened a plot of land for me and my home that has an awesome willow tree in the front yard. My next few days were filled with crafting and creating, learning new things at every tedious step. Then I met Brother Guilliam (I can't remember how to spell your full name, I apologize big guy) who had started a monastery east of New Dawn, we chatted together for a while and I promised to visit him. Alas, the next day I was attacked by a goblin and a wolf outside my home, trapping me inside. I reached out through chat, desperately seeking help. Brother Guilliam immediately responded, saying he was on his way. My neighbor Andrade also showed up for the fight! After that, we cooked goblin breakfast and watched a Brazilian debate that devolved into a chair fight, laughing and eating our meals. After parting ways it was a quiet few days, new neighbors popping up here and there. I did indeed travel to the monastery, to assist Brother Guilliam in defeating a goblin hut, having a long and mighty battle with him and his neighbors. I came back and built some chairs for Brother Guilliam, we discussed religion and labored to decorate the monastery. After a long days work I headed home, running into Monz near my home. We hit it off right away and I showed him a plot of land I'd been practicing flattening, with a stunning view of the lake, and he moved right in. After a couple days Monz has become a staple of the neighborhood, helping all the new neighbors and just being a good dude. I can't wait for my future adventures in Wurm and if you've interacted with me just know I am extremely thankful to have met all of you!

I love it when someone has a new player experience like this and starts to discover the magic of this game very early on. And it sounds like you've already discovered that one of our most unique and charming features is our wonderful community - there are so many people in it that are kind, welcoming and keen to share their love of this game with others who are just beginning; I'm super glad you found some of them and had such wholesome first experiences. :D You're gonna have a super time here! Welcome to Wurm!

Wurm speeds up as you play it. Developing your character makes actions faster and opens up new opportunities for you. As you learn new mechanics and how to min-max, your efficiency increases. Endgame is great fun, you can build and craft anything, collect large quantities of high-quality goods, be able to fight several trolls at once, defeating them in 2-3 hits etc. Finalizing large projects gives great satisfaction. Keybinds are very helpful, personaly have dozens of them which makes my experience super smooth.

Everyone have own way of enjoing wurm, if you don't bounce back from this game you gonna love it.

Good luck and happy wurming o/
