Posted November 27 (edited) Hello, community! I thought about creating something to make trading items between players easier. I’ve developed a pilot project to test some ideas and would love to have your collaboration and feedback. This site is being created using Oracle/Google Cloud technology. To search for items, no authentication is required. To sell items, some form of login is necessary. I decided to use Google login (because it’s easier and avoids creating yet another username/password among the many we already have). https://tinyurl.com/wurmtrade A summary of the features implemented so far Search page Here you can search the item you want to buy Sell Page Here you list the items you have to sell Data Load Page Here you can list many items at once Copying and pasting the text like we write in the trade chat "<character> WTS [item name] " (I am still unsure whether to proceed with or abandon this feature.) On each search or sale page, it is possible to: Search by any column Reorganize the columns Filter Group by Pivot Format Is Oracle Cloud Safe? https://www.oracle.com/security/cloud-security/ Is Google Sign-In safe? https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/12921417?hl=en#zippy=%2Chow-long-your-data-is-shared Edited November 28 by Kenji insert image
Posted November 27 (edited) *snip* At the time of this comment, there was no info in OP. Edited November 28 by Nordlys
Posted November 27 (edited) Now that the original post has been updated I'll revise my previous comment. I like the idea, it seems like this could be beneficial. I'll check it out some more. Edited November 28 by HerbalMentat
Posted November 28 (edited) My feedback is that if you want us to click on a link you should at least tell us why we should bother. Edit: at the time of this comment the first post was just an URL with "please give feedback". Edited November 28 by Lisimba
Posted November 28 what does a user need when it opens the page? normally would be opening the url.. and search for something.. then what? how's the trade made? old.. poe.trade style? premade copy/paste text .. /t name hey, I'd like to buy item #1236 for 6silver, [96ql rare pickaxe], is it still available, C.O.D. asap to <name> if so, thanks! etc etc etc.. just speed up the usability of the tool; since it's new and ui is "unusual" or users will likely be not familiar with what's what, where, etc.. you might want to add some help/explanation what's what and how it could be used.. like the data-load and google-login for oraclecloud... Posted November 28 I would definitely recommend that if you're developing a tool for use alongside Wurm that you should at least have the following. 1) a Brief in the post explaining what the tool is, what it is designed for, what it currently does and what it requires from the players. 2) Screenshots of the tool being used. Having just a disguised link with no context, no information and no clarification means that it appears to be very suspect and not trustworthy in the slightest. POE Trade for sure is a inspiration lol I liked the idea to copy/paste a standard message "/t <user> <item>, etc...". And the help/explanation.... I'll work on that, thanks Edited November 28 by Kenji

Updated this post explaining it. For sure it is better now

Posted November 28 i think the concept is interesting but what myself and many are looking for is something that shows the scrolling trade chat so you don't have to login, being able to check SFI/NFI trade would be my feedback.
Posted November 28 (edited) d2jsp.org is a known site mainly for those playing Diablo 2, but also many other games as you see in the spoiler below. Could easily add a sub-site for Wurm there. The two major issues i see with third party trading sites is: I have to log in I dont want to log in I can choose a username that differs from who i am ingame, which can be problematic Its easy to trade with non-ingame assets, such as real life money, since we are taking the trade talk outside the game Its not allowed by the rules, which can be problematic Edited November 28 by Nordlys
Posted November 28 I think, I'd add an NFI / SFI indicator on there or even a server name so that you don't try to buy (however that's done) from the wrong cluster
Posted November 28 Thank you for the recent feedback. I made some improvements, and login will not be required to enjoy most of the site. Additionally, the site will try to use information from the in-game chat
Posted November 30 If you're going to scrap the trade logs, the alt+clicked items contain info in the logs you aren't using yet. For instance: QL and casts. [common birchwood long spear QL:90.3625 DMG:0.0 WT:2.7 Nim 101 • CoC 91 • MS 51]

But I will try to get this information somehow.
Posted December 1 * Better search tools are needed. I'd like to see regex in the text field. If you can make an AI that can extract this and then let us search with a user friendly UX it would be better then regex. * I'd prefer to see a tool that doesn't require a login. I'm not sure why we would need that anyway. A user will likely search the chat logs and then go /tell the player in-game. I think it would be easier on you if you just focus on data extraction and tools to ease player access of that data. * The next request, as others have also said, is a way to get the data nested inside item link tooltip. But I don't see a way to get this that is reasonable. No one is going to manually extract that data. It likely wouldn't be that hard to make a bot to extract the data. But I pretty sure that will be against Wurm TOS. And Wurm is very ruthless in their punishment for this offense. * Another request is a tool to OCR a screen shot of a merchant's inventory. Then take that data and make it searchable.

I intend to move forward with this if this pilot is well accepted by the community.
