The ebony speed bonus doesn't add that much to the overall speed, I have never understood why everyone seems to lust after them - I breed all colours, and love my 5 speed silver and black...

In PvP even the slightest edge in speed could make all the difference.

I agree that appearance should have no relationship with speed. Tbh I'd like to see well bred horses be able to take on hell horse like appearances (purely cosmetic in this case) on Defiance too.
