Level nerf

Recommended Posts

So is there any workaround to the whole 1 dirt dropping per level action?  Looks like I need to flatraise everything now since level will take 8 years to do now.

Uh, yeah I'm in the middle of a large terraforming project and my time to complete just spiked through the roof. Yesterday I was able to get 3 dirt per tick angling my leveling. Now it is 1.

The Level action is intended to only take one dirt into your inventory per tick of the action. It can drop as many dirt from your inventory as needed, but can only actually take dirt from one corner at a time. This was the case in the old action, and was only left out of the new action by mistake, and has been fixed to match the old behavior.

If I'm reading that right that was not the case of the old system, you can level corners and use three dirt at a time, if it wasn't a corner you could use 2. You seem to be confused with leveling cave floors.

I've done zero leveling with the new system as I'm a mag priest, but if this has been changed how I'm assuming it has then this is a massive nerf to something that has worked a certain way for a very long time.

Forgot to quote so I'll tag I guess @Ostentatio

this is not how it worked prior to the rework either, we used to intentionally raise things in diagonals because it did up to three at at time.

maybe it wasn't intended then either, but from what I remember it's functioned that way since about a week after the mechanic was introduced.

Was it ever faster then flatraising?  No, not really.  Was it ever faster then dig to pile?  No.  Was it more convenient for us to do rather then dropping dirt constantly?  Yes.

Sounds less like a bug, and more like a QoL improvement that was just removed.

not sure its needed but I can confirm this is how it used to work, I think some people are confused and talking about two different things, some people are talking about leveling UP (adding positive slope value), some people are talking about leveling dirtwalls DOWN (removing dirt slope value) and the latter was a recent change that allowed you to diag LOWER a dirtwall 3 dirt at a time into your inventory.
