I have been doing some testing with the horse shoes to check exactly how useful they are. (There may be a speed calculator out there that I don't know about.) 

Testing is a little difficult since horse speeds change by traits and other factors. The testing was done with a draft horse on flat ground. (No fleeter movement or lightning movement). But the horse shoes seem to add about 9.37km/h to the mount's minimum speed.

 

On a horse with no saddle and 70 trait points, his minimum speed was 17.27 on flat ground.

With the same horse, after adding the rare shoe set, his minimum speed was 26.64.

 

26.64 - 17.27=9.37 km/hr faster at minimum. He often moved at 28.03. I never really cared about having a fast horse before trying these horse shoes. But now I love them. ?
