Imping interface

Recommended Posts

Would anyone else like to see something more like this for an interface to use while imping?

The numbers on the tools icons should be exchanged for the %dmg and the icons should be usable to repair the tool.  But basically, it puts the most common information you want to see, and actions you want to do,  in one focused area.

Sorry for the crudity, one does what one can with the tools on hand :)

I don't see significant change.. there's nothing that improves, it just shifts loading bar from 1 window to another

with the same reasoning the improve improve improve improve.... text could finally make sense and say what it actually does instead... and put the loading bar color animation on the action itself.. no need for extra 1-2 more bars...

simplified UI....

The idea is to clean up the interface and lower the onscreen clutter.  I normally play multiple clients at a lower resolution so screen space is 'valuable' to me. So one by one:

Chat window:  This is normally open only on one client that is running full screen and closed(1) on the other clients running at lower resolutions.

Summary - I normally close this on the low-res clients.  It would be nice if the game remembered that on login to those profiles.

Event window: Friends - only needed on the full screen window - useless on the rest(2).

Event - the time remaining bar is useful.  The text area is nothing but unreadable spam if you have more than one/two clients performing actions.

Skill: The skill tracker meets most of my needs here, though the detailed information is useful on occasion.  A hotkey would be nice.

Summary - kept open for the action timer bar.  I'd love to disable/hide it like the chat interface.

Quickbar:          Sleep bonus activation: nice to have, can use console command

Fight mode: Should be on the fight window, good to have otherwise

Climb mode: Can get by with using the hotkey, but would be nice to have the icon as above

                           Character,Skills,Inventory,Skills,Backpack,Toolbelt,etc,etc: All have hotkeys

Active tool area: useless, my standard repair is mapped to a extra mouse key -- it doesn't even work with this - yes I know I can use 'F'

Summary - Good for new players who haven't learned/set hotkeys.  But, I'd love to close it, and could/would with the above interface.

Toolbelt:            Provided the tools and their damage are on the right as I (crudely) pictured above and I can repair via those icons --- also useless to have open

Summary: I'd love to not have it open, but I have to atm

again to be clear, this is in the context of when I'm imping/working on stuff.

Obviously there's a long-long discussion that could be had on the rest of the interface and how to consolidate the jumble of windows and icons presently being used.

(1) I use 'Hud setting' to close the chat tab

(2) Why is this even on the event tab and not on the chat tab......
