Posted August 17 Raw garlic won't do anything. Chopped garlic, however, gives 2 favor at 100 QL, if memory serves correctly.
Posted August 17 (edited) It is 2.49 favor at 100 ql, same btw as every other chopped veg, and chopped oleander. I don't know if they work for Libila, maybe not. In fact, chopped garlic/oleander both weigh 50g each, meaning 5kg per 100 items in satchel etc., whereas wemp plants and fibres weigh 500g, but it needs 650g to create a cordage rope of 500g, bit loss through failures in addition. Garlic (and oleander) is second only to cordage which has a slightly better favor per weight ratio only at max ql with 26 favor for a ql 99.60 (best I can produce), but has the advantage that it can be combined so that large amounts may be stored on a cart, raft etc. It is all boils down to some tradeoffs. Garlic is straightforward, sow, harvest (keep seeds), chop, done, rinse and repeat. Each chopped garlic has the same or rather a higher ql than the harvested garlic, with a rare knife, 100ql from ql95 on reliably. Same goes for oleander if you are good in forestry, and use a rare or better sickle with gathering rune. Only harvest is only once per Wurm year for a few days (first one after spring break). Cordage needs wemp seeds, sow, harvest, pick seeds for replant, crush plants to fibres, repeat farming cycle. Have high ropemaking skill, and a good, best rare or supreme, and imbued ropetool. There is a quite high variance, with an average favor of around 16 (12) even with best tool and skill when all are dropped together into a bsb or crate, see https://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/173398-favor-value-testing/&do=findComment&comment=1885644 . It can be significantly raised when sorting, see the posts above in the aforementioned thread. I use cordage of highest ql e.g. for my priestess during rifts as it is easy to carry e.g. 5k+ favor that way, in 520 favor packages, 20 ropes combined each. It would require 2088 chopped garlic for the same. Edited August 17 by Ekcin minor correction
Posted August 17 So the easiest and best for me would be imping up my knife and just plant tons of garlic, have 70 farming actually. Many thanks for the infos all !
Posted August 17 (edited) Chopping nerfed after this nice update. Was 1 sec timer with rare knife 100casted, now 3sec with rare and supreme knifes. It follows that it is very long and not profitable. If it's a bug, no one wants to fix it. Edited August 17 by AlexeySt
