Posted August 11 I was setup to imp a couple socketed rings and pendulums for a friend. This is what the setup looked like (toolbelt, items in forge): The first two imps on both rings failed (caused damage), which is a little strange at 70ql when you have 99+ jewelsmithing, but that's what happened. What's weirder was the repair cycle after the damage ticks. The damage ticks were something like .25, but when I repaired the first ring, it started shaving off .01 damage per tick, as if repairing at item at the top end of your difficulty range.... I have 90+ repairing, and rings in general are not high difficulty. Usually repair is almost instant. They took a lot of damage from this, both were down to around 69.25 after the first two repairs. After that, things seem to get back to more normal, although one did shave off .13 quality on a .39 repair, which is a lot. Especially at 90 repair skill. The first two imp and repairs on the rings were bizarre. Something is not operating correctly there, never experienced it before. They have the gems listed in the item name socketed in each one. I didn't socket them, and I asked if they had been imped/repaired before. They had not. They came mailed as exactly 70ql. I have imped socketed rings before and never experienced this. The pendulums (also seryll) imped as expected, just like anything else. My food/nutrition bars and stamina were full when repairing.
Posted August 11 (edited) Update: Seems to be more than just socketed rings. I tried some regular seryll rings I had around, creation (20) ql. They imped very slowly to 60. After 30, every imp was 2ql gain or less. I tried gold rings, same story. Gold necklace, same story again. So I tried a chain jacket for comparison. With only 65 chain skill, I get 4 and 5ql jumps in the 30's and 3ql jumps in the 40's. Edit: After imping more on the rings, repairing damage on rings shaves off close to half the damage in item Ql, which is definitely not right. This does not happen with pendulums. TL;DR Somehow, something has broken Jewelsmithing. Edited August 11 by munster
Posted August 11 JS items are way harder to improve or slower.. since title doesn't seem to affect improvement rates like with other worn items; unsure for the sock rings if they have some "crazy"-high difficulty as rare/unique item(probably..), higher diff will easily explain the bigger ql drop chunks even at high repairing skill
