Posted January 7, 2010 Hey, I joined the game some years ago and just started playing again. In the meantime, I have been studying 3d and I am currently working on a bachelor degree. And want to offer my help to make models, textures, do rigging and the like. I don't mean as a payed job or anything, but for free, just to help. Just tell me what is needed, what texture size, and poly range, and I'll see what I can do. An older example of my work:

Posted January 7, 2010 Visible clothing+armour needs to be the next big update before wurm 1.0 IMO.
Posted January 7, 2010 Visible clothing+armour needs to be the next big update before wurm 1.0 IMO. I agree with this, but i think animation for combat and more combat interpretation should be foremost. I know i could bring about 10 more people from DF to play if this happened. Posted January 7, 2010 make something that looks more realistic maybe? that kinda looks like world of warcraft armour :\ Thats an example of his work. He didn't say once he wanted it to be in wurm. he chose a piece of work that showed his skills and displayed it. If you want it to be like wurm, do it and don't complain. Posted January 7, 2010 You remind me a diamond that need some work to be done on it Can you show us more of your work ? Something more rough perhaps ? I'm not really a specialist in 3d art but i imagine that this model would use much greater engine that the current one (yes i know it's just example )
Posted January 10, 2010 I could also help out with lots of things in the 3D department but i get the feeling that they dont want the extra people. From an outside point of view it looks like their pipeline cant handle it really.
Posted January 11, 2010 Mr B did the same as you and he made it in, so good luck to you; you do have a chance.

Posted January 12, 2010 Just expect to get sniped at for a couple weeks until you do something amazing that everyone will like. Something amazing? I don't think anything amazing is essential since there ain't anything amazing in Wurm yet Well, maybe raw landscape looks amazing at some point but that's all
Posted January 12, 2010 Well, Graylord, are you in? No response yet. You've shown just one example, that isn't even related to wurm. I would say - take some items in wurm, of which you think that you can do the model better. Post them here and they should start to pay attention.
Posted January 12, 2010 Do you have any more examples of your work? I remember that bloodworth guy posted quite a few and got into the team.
Posted January 12, 2010 Maybe we could start a small competition just for the fun of it and to promote some creativity? We make a list of 5-10 models that could get some imping and then we see who can make the best one? Then if the art-team like any they could have them as long as we can work out the copyright and such. Anyone intrested?

Posted January 13, 2010 You guys are missing the point. Anyway, here's a quick example: Remember that i just spent a few minutes on it.
Posted January 13, 2010 You guys are missing the point. No, you're missing the point. Dizzy and Balmore hit the nail on the head before. Send/post multiple examples of your work. One suit of armour is not ample enough to distinguish if you're "team-worthy".

One suit of armour is not ample enough to distinguish if you're "team-worthy". Do you know the process of modelling and texturing? The process is the same no matter what the object is, the only difference is the time and details. To one who actually knows how this works, one object should show as much skills as many. But here is another quick example of a simple leather west and a chain shirt. I hope 3 images is enough.
Posted January 14, 2010 Not bad models but you need to know wurm has no bump/normal maps. Also normal maps look horrible without specular maps. Try to make just plain diffuse maps and set glossines to 0 in your materials and it should look close to what wurm can render. Keep practicing, you have a promising start in 3d
