[2010-01-06] New test client 2.7.0-2028 .. 2489

Recommended Posts

Changes in 2.7.0-2065

* Bugfix: Make target window work again.

* Remove fightmove and cmd console commands. Replace with keybinds. See the new default keybindings.txt for the full list.

* Add a main menu, displayed with the STOP keybind (by default escape) if there is no current action to stop.

* Add a show error log button to the pack updater to make it easier to report problems.

3 small bugs:

-Client remembers what size you had the fight bar as but does not set correctly on startup. So client thinks for me the fight bat is small buts its shows big, so have to click toggle size twice to change it.

-You get emote options that do nothing on right click in skill window.

-Can toggle toolbelt on and off from main menu even if you don't have one

with the newest update i am sometimes able to enable/disable a compass. i dont even own one ;)

its weird. the option is blacked out , but sometimes it works anyway. ive not been able to determine what triggers it.

I am still not getting the startup splash, the file downloads but only a warped Wurm logo is shown. Would these errors matter (ATI Radeon X1950 on Vista):

Starting update of login splash image...

Could not complete FBO: 36057 (0x8cd9)

Disabling FBO due to error.

Finished loading new login splash image!

Is this a striped kind of warped?

If so, check your catalyst settings; disable catalyst A.I. and enable 'let application decide' (don't know the english phrase) for AA and AF.

The error message means the error detection is working as expected, at least. :)

Changes in 2.7.0-2075

* Bugfix: Disabled buttons shouldn't respond to clicks.

* Make compass and toolbelt behave properly, including on restart.

* Bugfix: Fight window didn't remember size properly.

* Bugfix: Rock mine doors were unstealthy

* Change cave rendering around some. Might fix lighting-at-entrance issues, might not.

* Remove the 'extreme' cave detail level.

Changes in 2.7.0-2079

* Most draggable components can now be locked (and unlocked) with the context menu. This should remain between restarts.

* Fix holes and glitches in the new caves. Fix bad texturing. Fix cave hover names.

* Make cave floors slightly bumpier.

Can no longer move inside a cave or do any actions. Getting rubberbanding back to the same spot when moving...when standing still my character is moving slightly up and down, like it's jumping on the spot.

I have the same issue right now, but no time to wait for /support

I had the same issue earlier but there were no GM's on for assistance  :(

It may be my computer, but I seem to get spurious double clicks and sometimes jerk my ingame head in directions I didn't intend to. Still need to verify if it's fast yield, the new drivers, and if it happens on the stable client too.

I am still not getting the startup splash, the file downloads but only a warped Wurm logo is shown. Would these errors matter (ATI Radeon X1950 on Vista):

Is this a striped kind of warped?

If so, check your catalyst settings; disable catalyst A.I. and enable 'let application decide' (don't know the english phrase) for AA and AF.

OK I had unistalled the Catalyst Control Center, so I reinstalled it and checked those ('Use application settings' was the wording), but it did not help. My driver version is 9.8, ATI has moved my card to legacy support and is not offering any newer. :-\

This is possibly a result of the new event handling. In addition to fast yield, there are three new settings for JOGL in the compat view: disable async events, release context on sleep, and sleep before drag. LWJGL has no extra options. Please include which renderer you've used and your OS.

In that case you'll probably want to use 9.3 or older, as the 9.4 to 9.11 drivers have a rather annoying memory leak.

Lwjgl, Linux, nvidia 190.53. Further testing later, switched to stable for now because of the problem in mines.

In that case you'll probably want to use 9.3 or older, as the 9.4 to 9.11 drivers have a rather annoying memory leak.

Since 9.10 the memory leak regarding Wurm and light sources was fixed by ATI, I haven't heard about any new memory leaks introduced by them. Anyway I think they are now up to 9.12 at least. All ATI drivers before 9.10 will cause memory leaks which will cause frequent client crashes.

Btw, I won't use unstable clients anymore since I am unable to leave or walk in my mine because of rubberband bug introduced in latest client (probably the bumpier cave floors you introduced)

A few people have reported 'slow motion' sometimes after logging in, I don't mean low fps, in fact the fps seems stupidly high when it happens (and I have my fps limited to 50). No I don't have a dump, if it happens again I'll post one.

I had it happen 4 days ago, but didn't get a dump :-(

My speed indicator read 12.4kph but the visible movement was only around 2-3

my FPS was also reading 60's even though my normal is only about 15.

Yeah so they say, but I could run Wurm all day (;D) at high graphic and sound settings without crashing. Well I downgraded to 9.3, but the splash picture is still not shown, just warped, stretched Wurm logo. Wurm sets my FBO support as Disabled and Use direct color picking as checked, other Compatibility settings are at Core or unchecked.

I get that too but ONLY after the reconnect screen was there because of a server restart and the server has not been up yet.

* Add a main menu, displayed with the STOP keybind (by default escape) if there is no current action to stop.

STOP does not work anymore in fights. When in a fight you could queue and action like first aid, hit escape and the fight action was aborted and the first aid action would start. This is not possible anymore since the menu comes up.

also there is a small window between finishing the first action and starting the queued action when it would not stop but display the menu instead. This could be because of a little lag.

I'd prefer not to see the menu at all. How about a toggle escmenu?

EDIT: Actually displaying a menu on STOP is a bad hack. I think it'd be better to bind ESC to a MENU action by default and have the STOP action as it was before but unbound. So players will be able to rebind MENU to any other key if they want the STOP on ESC

That's a good thing :) It's always seemed silly to be able to first aid yourself in the middle of a fight, I'm glad it was fixed (even if only unintentionally).

That's why there is a penalty on doing stuff while fighting. Oh, and you can't stop leading an animal in fights anymore. So those fights are to death then. Point is you can't stop your attack anymore unless you find a way to end the fight. I dont care if you think it's realistic to heal in a fight. I think it's realistic to stop attacking nevertheless.
