The main targets of this cycle are (still) terrain quality and performance, advanced item selection (shift-click, ctrl-click), and a few other things contingent on server and art team. Test client [2.7.0-2489] at http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient_test.jnlp Unstable client [2.7.0-2489] at http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient_unstable.jnlp The test client goes to the test server, the unstable client connects to the main servers. These clients will have bugs, crashes and bad performance. Do not use the unstable client if you have anything to lose. Changes in 2.7.0-2028 * Internal changes to command parsing * Add more state to window positions. Display of menu bar, fps counter and similar is now stored. * Add context menu for compass (close), tabs (close), health bar (toggle name, toggle fps), menu bar (close), tree lists (expand all, collapse all), toolbelt (toggle size, close) and maybe some I've forgotten to write down. * Overhaul event handling This is a rather significant change under the hood. JOGL and LWJGL have been unified to a great extent. If you suddenly get problems with uncooperative mouse or keyboard, this is probably the reason. The changes for LWJGL users should be minimal. JOGL users may have bigger problems, so there are a few new compat options. Don't change these until you've tried the default, and let us know if the default doesn't work out for you. * Bugfix: Buttons and similar should no longer respond to right-click as if it were left-click. * Improve handling of delete and backspace keys in input fields. * Advanced item selection - must be enabled manually with 'setoption advanced_select_items true' This includes support for ctrl-select, shift-select, drag combinations. Shift-drag remains available in advanced mode, but there it gives the maximum number per stack. * The HUD will no longer rescale when the window is resized, but components will move to remain on-screen if needed. With maximized, fullscreen, and custom resolution there should be no need for resizing while playing anymore. * Bugfix: Some text fields in BML windows were not displayed, they should be so now. * Various HUD changes under the hood. Shouldn't break anything, but let it know if it does. * Dropdowns should now scroll to the currently selected item automatically. Posted January 6, 2010 Well, first thing I find I dislike is the selection highlighting. When you roll over something in your inventory, it strokes the entire row with a white border. I find it highly annoying and distracting. There needs to be a way to enable and disable this. Also, how do I remove the keybind bar at the top? The bar at the top does not save when restarting Wurm. One last thing, when you used to close chat windows, it would move to the right/forward. Now, it moves in reverse order. For Instance, you would have the tabs Local, Village, and Jenn-Kellon opened and you were looking at Village Chat. Before this update, when you closed Village, it would go to JK chat, but now it goes to Local instead. Local Village Jenn-Kellon - Village tab opened Local Jenn-Kellon - Forward Local Jenn-Kellon - Reversed Could you please fix this to go forward instead of reverse? Posted January 6, 2010 Before rightclick did the same thing leftclick did, i got into the habit of using rightclick to improve items or create them alot. It seems now rightclick does nothing, and leftclick is the only way to perform a action. Is this necesarry? Posted January 6, 2010 Grrrr, whatever was done to the new client is making my memory leak again! Maybe something done "under the hood"? Well, I think it slowed down, but it's chewing up 200,000K more memory than it used to. It also seems a LOT more laggier than before. Also, can I have TOGGLE FPS back? Posted January 7, 2010 The tabs move as they should for me, so I'm not sure what's wrong there. Changes in 2.7.0-2045 * Bugfix: Menu bar state wasn't saved properly. * Improve offline timekeeping. Should cut down on the magical fps boost some people get after reconnecting. * Support right-click in addition to left-click in popup menus. * Add option to disable the list hover outline. * Make LWJGL generate the same key events as JOGL. Posted January 7, 2010 It's still leaking badly for me. The old client stops around 60,000-70,000K memory usage. The new one rises almost 500-1,000K per second and doesn't stop until it crashes. I'm assuming it's one of the "under the hood changes" bolded in red text that messed up the client for me. My FPS is still horrible. So right now, I'm playing on the stable (old unstable) until this is fixed, and I hope the stable client won't be updated until the problem is fixed. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
