Let SFI portal to Defiance

PvPers are tired of being segregated. Defiance was made with changes in mind that most PvPers advocated for.

 

This seems to be the easiest path forward.

 

 

In regards to concerns about the cluster: Portals should take you back to where you came from, so they shouldn't be able to access the other NFI servers. Only defiance.

No thank you. Chaos is near pay to win with tomes. Defiance has a far superior ruleset.

How to then deal with portals from Defiance to NFI PvE servers, though? Obviously, a lot of folks would use this as a quick way to go from SFI PvE to NFI PvE.

I understand this concern, but ultimately I believe this is a development and design hurdle and shouldn't be a concern for the root of the suggestion. It shouldn't be too much of a task though, it's already coded and you just need checks for existing data. Currently the portals should only be portaling you back from where you came, so they shouldn't be accessing the other NFI servers.

Hmm, would SFI skill transfer back and forth from Defiance like out does on NFI? (The exception of course being faith, fighting, and meditation path) Would you want it to?

 

What about bank balance? This would implement a way players could trade coin between NFI and SFI toons they own.

also a new map is something i wouldn't be opposed to either.

 

should also make it that once pmk's are in, anyone that is a part of that pmk can make the pmk related items to sell to freedomers.

Would this be a one way portal? Since the only SFI PvP server is Chaos, which has an open crossing with the rest of the PvE cluster wouldn't this allow NFI players to cross into SFI purely for the purpose of accessing SFI? Just doing it through Defiance then hopping server?

 

I mean this was my first thought, 'I wonder if I could my semi-defunct NFI player to NFI with all their funds intact, instead of waiting for a merge?'

so make it possible to craft defiance portal and just teleport to Defiance? Sounds fun for harmless pvp (stuff is kept there). What about skills on defiance? Do they stay with you, when you come back? Anyways +1 from me!

You can't "just hop server". You are stuck on the cluster from whence you came, as you can only portal in/out of defiance and the portal returns you to where you portaled from. There is no sailing, and that is the current functionality of how it is implemented. So no, it wouldn't be.
