Wurm Online streamer list - The Madnath Entertainment Network

Hello everyone, rather than rattle the cage of "why is VEN dead? There's a major influx of streamers and it doesn't exist!" I got the brilliant idea from Jelly in GL chat to make the MEN - Madnath Entertainment Network.

Here, you'll find a list of the currently active streamers across Twitch and YouTube that stream Wurm. I cannot manually post when they go live, so please be sure to give them a follow if you manage to catch them and enjoy their content. Wurm playerbase has often yelled and screamed about the idea of more advertising, even though we've seen many times that traditional advertising hasn't worked out for this game. Streaming the game is a very real and valuable way to advertise the game and get it out there. Some of our current streamers stream other games too, and the viewers they pull in from those games, often tune in to their Wurm streams in order to get more of the streamer and some get curious enough to try the game!

Please don't turn this post into a debate about the value of Twitch or our streamers, this isn't the place for it. I want to do what little I can to support our streamers and get the word out there.

 

These will be marked as either a streamer or a content creator.

Streamer = streams Wurm live, and may have VOD to watch at a later date

Content Creator = Prerecorded content, uploaded online.

"What the heck Madnath, I'm not on the list!"

 

If you're missing, please let me know! Either drop a message below or PM me on the forum or ingame! I've only tried to include streamers with some level of consistency for streams in order to not clutter the list, however not everyone has VODs on their Twitch profile. This list is compiled from my knowledge and a streamer tracking website, so I don't expect the list to be full. Nobody has eyes in the back of their head, so if you're missing, please just tell me. I'm more than happy to add anyone who streams Wurm or makes content elsewhere and I hope this list does something to show we've got an active streamer and content creator community that really needs some proper VEN style support. I can't offer much in the way of actual support ingame, but if you're an SFI streamer I can maybe see about imping your weapons for you to help keep you safe in the wilderness.

 

I also want to take a moment to just say this isn't a slight towards staff for VEN being on the backburner. A system like that times a lot of time to tweak to get right for all parties, and so long as it does remain something they're reviewing, I'm happy to wait. But with such a large influx of streamers, I think it's important to do what we can until its ready.

Thanks! This is great and probably needed. It seems like there has been a growth in entertainments in regards to the game and it's actually nice to see it all put together. Well done and thanks for the time you put into it.

I was going to ask if you could add streamers' schedules to the post, but it doesn't look like anyone really has one. So instead, I encourage streamers to post in this topic when they go live! (as well as in GL chat, on Discord, etc... you know the drill 😉)

Hey, I made the list! 

Genuinely though, I appreciate you throwing this list together. And not just because I'm on it lol. But for all the streamers and Wurm in general. I agree completely with the sentiment that streaming can be a valuable asset in terms of drawing players to the game. 

It's heartening to see the positive sentiments in this thread already as well. Perhaps it's just my innate desire to not inconvenience anyone in anyway no matter how small or some other insecurity but I always feel so guilty posting in GL/Freedom when I'm going live. It's nice to see affirmation there are people out there actually interested in knowing.

 I definitely need to get on this and be better about it. As I'm new to streaming and still settling into it, I've been terribly irregular.

Also, I had no idea what VEN was so I had to google it. The results were this exact forum post (LOL) followed by a link to an "under construction" page for an official method of Wurm collaborating with streamers. I hesitate to ask, but I got to know...How long has that been under construction haha?

If a streamer wants to reach forward and suggest their schedule, I absolutely encourage them to do so and I will add it, but I feel it's better to do it at their request, rather than looking at the sometimes ignored Twitch scheduler.

VEN was a streamer incentive program brought in by Retrograde/Archaed, which gave streamers incentives and offical support with their streaming. I've never been in it but from what I understand it had tiers based on viewership and hours, and could give things like premium time, silver coins or deed upkeep. The really big number pushers sometimes got to show new content (no idea if they'll ever do that again with a heavier focus on test server use) and prizes in different forms, like premium codes or nice items. You'd get a feature on the page you now see as "under construction" and a role in the Wurm discord that let you post in a VEN channel that's used just for posting your stream when you go live.

It seems sometime last year they put a pause on this and stopped taking in new folks, and it's been dormant and quiet ever since. I have no idea if those in VEN are still talking to staff about it, or getting their benefits, and we have no news or timeframe on its return.

It's a wonderful system, I hope to see it back sooner rather than later, honestly. Strike while the iron is hot and there's a nice influx of new, fresh streamers willing to show off the game.

 

And on that note, I did pop into one of your rift streams Hamtad and it looks wonderfully high quality, a lot of thought and care put into it which I always appreciate, so keep it up, streaming Wurm can be a challenge with its strange gameplay, but you managed to make it interesting and engagement was damn good. Looking forward to more, and I'm glad the list has spread the word out a bit more too. Never feel scared to post a stream link in GL, most of the time it's just inane junk in there which is how it really should be, but we'll never run after you with pitchforks for posting a stream link.

Perfect, thank you very much, I have added them. I've given them a different tag labeling them as content creators, as it seems they're recorded and then put on YouTube rather than streamed. I am totally fine with having them added, since VEN operated basically the same way. I will add a key in the original post to reflect this.

As an Ex VEN streamer I'm glad to see there are still people that recognize the value that content creators can bring to small niche games like Wurm. Sadly it seems the current team lacks the ability to support programs or promotional efforts for the game.

A quick update about something that maybe touches on the future of VEN... sorta maybe?

 

This is a Game Chest video aimed at stockholders or something, basically talking about their focuses to grow and remain profitable. I've put a timestamp to the part where they talk about an affiliate program for content creators.

 

So good news, I guess? There's something turning in the cogs of Game Chest to have something like VEN at the very least, and it's something they have a direct interest in having and working on.

It transitions to a screen that shows about 9 views of Wurm streams. If you're a streamer, calm down, because 0 of the streamers in my list are in this video.

They're all screens of a Chinese streamer playing Wurm Unlimited. Complete with minimap mod. They're showing off a different product and sidelining the people in the current affiliate program.

This is probably on me. They must have looked at the recent Wurm Online stream vods and just happened to land on my April Fools stream. A furry vtuber model with constant fart noises. "Nah, this ain't it" they said before abandoning the entire category.
