Passwords Warning

Recommended Posts

It's a good idea to make it a habit of always using a strong password. wikipedia has a pretty good article on this here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strong_password#strong_passwords
Take note especially of the first 3 sections.

A good password generator can be found here:
https://secure.pctools.com/guides/password/

Finally, There are computer programs that can securely store your passwords for you so that you don't have to remember them all. All you need to do is remember the master password. Don't forget about backup if you use this option, otherwise, if your PC dies you'll lose all your passwords because you didn't memorise them   :P

Here's a free, secure password manager:

Password Security

I would suggest to everyone to look at the type of password they are using and where they use it.

1/ Dont use the same password in forums and game.

2/ Dont use similar passwords on vent or other forums.

3/ If unsure of password compromise , change it now.

"Please keep you password secure at all times. Never give you password to another or allow anyone other than yourself to use your password. You are solely responsible for the security of your Password. CodeClub AB is not responsible for any harm that may result to the Account (including but not limited to loss of skills, deletion of the account or loss of inventory) as a result of a lost or shared password and may be unable to restore your character to its original status.

A Player account gives personal and individual access to the Wurm Online game. Unauthorised access to another player's account is not accepted as any part of the Wurm Online game or some kind of strategy, but a violation of their private data. Any player who accesses any account without authorisation will have their own account and any subsidiary accounts permanently deleted from the database.

This rule applies retrospectively to all accounts."

4/ If someone does entrust you with their password, do not abuse that trust. You wont get away with it just because so-and-so "was silly enough to give me the password"
