No rare roll on book creation

Used supreme string of cloth to make a book and had no rare roll at all.

I dont believe 2-component items have a chance to transfer rarity like a complex item does.

Simple item creation does not have a chance at a rare beyond the normal. You need an item that requires 3 or more components for it to force a roll due to rarity of a component.

Rare pickaxe head+shaft = rare pickaxe every time same goes for other 2 piece item that i have tried so far(activate rare item apply to other part, do not use crafting window)

Tool and weapon heads are the exception and will always transfer rarity.

Book is not an unfinished item. What you're looking for applies to unfinished items only.

 

With, as mentioned above, exceptions of heads due to archaeology.
