Patch Notes 22-NOV-2022

Server Changelog

  • Bugfix: Fixed bows losing magical ink rename on string/unstring.
  • Bugfix: Sermon cooldown timer will no longer reset on server crossing.
  • Bugfix: Fixed a highway pathfinding issue causing it to stop working.
  • Change: Made supreme bone fragments rarer to account for how they combine.

Client Changelog

  • Bugfix: Fixed inconsistencies with land vehicle and mounts turning.
  • Change: Land vehicles and mounts will now begin turning slower and speed up instead of beginning fast and slowing down.
  • Change: New maps generated will now use a different colour for sandstone and sand.

Treasure Maps had too big of a chance of dropping Supreme Bone Fragments. They could be combined with the rare bone fragments to make a supreme bone. Which means you only needed one supreme fragment. This was causing an influx in supreme bones entering the game at an unattended rate.

I did 50 maps and never had a supreme bone frag.

 

Oh well.

That explains the many wtb's for rare bone fragments at rather high prices.

 

But why not make supreme framgents only combine with supreme ones instead of making them rarer? You could lower the amount needed to combine to offset how rare they already were before this patch.

We didn't want to change how the fragment system worked for just 1 item felt it better to keep the system consistent across its uses.

I definitely start to turn fast and then slow down. So, not working on my end.

Another option, two birds one stone, etc.: restrict Supreme bone fragments to Supreme+ maps, and Fantastic fragments to Fantastic maps.  Since you would still have changes to get Rare fragments from Supreme+ maps (and Supremes from Fantastic maps), this places a big nerf on the number of Supreme+ fragment drops (you guys should be able to tell exact numbers between this and whatever change you made to tune appropriately) as well as beginning to provide a value for Supreme+ maps over the abundant Rare maps, making them more desirable.

 

*shrugs*  Dunno.  Just one of those so-called "thoughts in the shower" :)
