Floor Boards, Marsh, Wogic

Recommended Posts

Floor boards, placed down over marsh/dirt tiles, in the former to destroy it, in the latter, just non-uniform with the rest of pavement needs.

So, remove the tedious need to make an entire floor board for the purpose of marsh destruction, allow it to be removed same as most other types of terrain, with cultivation/packing.

Change floor boards to be layed down on packed tiles, like every other pavement type.

In defence of Rolf's Wogic....

His design of this feature was to mirror Real Medieval Life where people did lay down wood log flooring to stabilize and make crossings of marshes and swamps possible.

Today it is by dropping a ton of sand and packing it with over burden and waiting until it stops settling downward before removing the over burden and building your road.

Just a bit of ancient history I learned years ago as to why it is suspected Rolf and Notch did it this way.

... but I have to agree with Shrimpiie ...

..... that it is tedious, having tamed my fair share of marsh and swamp when putting in new Highways or a Deed or three.

Food for thought,

Remember the logic was put in when floor boards needed 21 planks to create. Now it's easy enough to make 100s of them in a day, so hardly worth complaining about.

Don't want some noob to come along and destroy an entire marsh field with just his shovel.

Marsh cannot be recreated once it's destroyed.

Maybe make marsh spread, slowly, like it was always rumored to 😛

Or be creatable.

Using its tedious function to do things. Marsh have its purposes under the current mechanic in both PVP and PVE.
