Is it possible to build bridges as ramps on top of a building?

Recommended Posts

Hello! With a group I started making an underground house in a pit of 150 slope 4x7 with at least 5 floors and we wish to be able to drive wagons up and down.
But after finishing the first floor we started wondering if it is even possible to build ramp on top of a building. It would be great to know before we continue any further.

Not really. Bridges are essentially houses, and can't be placed inside another building.

It won't be inside, it will be on top of the roof

Yes, that's still considered inside, since wurm sees most things as 2d with height, not a true 3d. So even on the very top floor, it would still be considered inside the building. If you wanted to use it to connected the top floor with something else, as long as it does not go over another building it would be fine.

Thanks for answering
That is very unfortunate, it seems like an arbitrary rule. Some of the mechanics are just very annoying in wurm, and there's really no way telling until you try it.

you cant overlap bridges, you cant build them inside the house plan.. there's not much flexibility with these.. but some barely useful scenarios are possible around the limitations;

looks are for some reason ignored or impossible because of limitations.. who knows

In the illustration you have posted, if you knock out the walls and remove the building plan underneath the bridges you can make bridge ramps that rise from floor to floor up and around the building. The two areas where you couldn't do that would be on the corners since you can't have 2 buildings touching the corners. So that'd take a rework
