[FIXED] Smelter & Kiln fires perma-lit, tiles haunted (re-light) if unloaded anywhere

Recommended Posts

This bug report was first filed via /support ticket #82711. I was told to post on the forums, as it is 'known'.

Smelters and Kilns appear to be bugged.

Smelters crossed servers. The kiln was built in place.

Fires graphics and sounds persist after wood fuel burns out.

Persists after relog.

Persists after loading into wagon.

After loading in wagon and relogging, effects end.

Unloading affected containers (on any tile) after relog makes 'previously bugged tiles' re-light and produce burning sounds.

Unable to "snuff".

Highly annoying.. I have disabled sound for the time being.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Is this still happening after yesterday's update? I believe this was one of the things that were aimed at being fixed,

I made the post today because it's still happening. It's easy to reproduce if anyone wants to come witness. It's visible on all characters, not just 1 client.

I have a smelter doing the same thing. This bug didn't exist for me until after the update.

Yes, this problem is appear after update for me. Right after update I snuff my smelter and load it into wagon, but fire effect doesn't disappear. Now I return from other server (I leave this smelter yesterday in a cave) and "fire is not lit", but I see fire.

I used my kiln 2 days ago, and it still looks like it's burning (while it isn't).

I logged on and off several times by now, so that didn't solve the issue.
There is no option to snuff either.

+1 I have the same issue with my smelters, but NOT with my forges, strangely enough. The smelters show as not lit on examine

Happened to me on 10/27 - 10/28/22.

What I expected:  When the fire died out, the flame graphic would disappear.

What actually happened:  Logged back into the game 15 hours later and the fire is out but the flame is still present.

[17:36:56] You start to light the kiln.
[17:37:02] You light the kiln.
[17:37:06] You selected 5.
[17:37:10] You combine the items into one.

[17:37:10] You combine the items into one.
[17:37:10] You combine the items into one.
[17:37:17] You fuel the kiln with some wood scrap.

I've seen weird fire effects and heard the noises when no fires lit. since Tuesday I've been experiencing regular client crashes also.
