Bring back voice chat from update 111024

It was taken away from us many moons ago but in this day and age where internet connection speeds are way way better then in 2011 can this feature be brought back now seeing as many of the issues from back then wouldn't really be a issue anymore?

I don't recall connection speeds ever being an issue, it was the trolling and general misuse of the system

It was something that was an issue for quite a few people at that time.

As for trolling well ya that was bound to happen with it being automatically active for everyone but what do you expect 2011 was the time of voice trolling but times have changed and if you really are concerned about general misuse and trolling just add simple moderation tools players being able to mute others locally and report those who misuse it so that they cant use it just like normal chat.

And the beauty of ingame voice was that you could strike up a conversation with that passerby there and then without the need of both hopping into discord and finding a channel to go talk in aka not doing that as why bother just stick to text.

+1 as It's way easier to communicate with other players, if someone don't like it  or feel trolled can always mute the sounds or block the person

that likely shouted your IP to anybody in local.. terrible idea (alternative is "massive" voip traffic to go through ccab servers to prevent client ip leaks; leaking personal info in EU not a joke... think about legal consequences)

 

needs some better solution.. buying subscription to discord, etc.. to handle many people and run voice through somebody's service will cost something, if that is considered ... imagine subscription 2.0 for such feature

 

implementing it.. and advertising to not use it because security problems.. wont do anybody any good, maybe ddosing people in pvp and griefing.. which is again nothing good.. and directly trolling, bullying, and fits in other law issues for the lulzers

 

no idea what other solutions are out there.. and if there's good alternative or free one to handle this..

Pretty much everything goes trought server thise days and most use vivox. if GM's can see your IP it's all the same thing as most people seen it, in this small population game, pretty much

 

edit: me googling about it in 2 seconds. Probably game developers that keep up with the current tech would be more insightful about it
