Posted August 9, 2022 Appreciate the update where the mend runes can now work on other items. They do work on whetstones which is great, don't need to bug Vyn priests all the time for repairs but sadly stone runes do not work on pelts. Pelts by definition are leather so stone runes should work on them but sadly they do not. From the wiki : "Some pieces of stone gathered from a defeated rift. Can be crafted together with metal to create a rune that will attach to stone, leather, cloth and pottery items." Intended or bug?
Posted August 9, 2022 I don't think the archaeology update that fixes this is live yet, but I believe this was specifically called out as one of the rune usages that should be fixed when it does.
Posted August 9, 2022 Pelts do not have a material type, so only "Any item" runes will work on them. Mend runes, however, are becoming an "Any item" rune in the archaeology update, which is currently on test, see thread here: Archaeology/Restoration Rebalance - Public Testing - Public Test Board - Wurm Online Forum
Posted August 9, 2022 Ultimately pelts should be concidered leather items for runes, but it currently isnt.
Posted August 9, 2022 Oh. That's too bad, I misunderstood and thought the 'leather' item type was being added to pelts... I was looking forward to putting a damage reduction rune on mine to match my whetstone.
