[Resolved] No text in the Wurm launcher on Arch Linux

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just installed the Wurm launcher from this AUR package and there's no text in the launcher window. I'm using GNOME on Xorg and the open-source Nvidia drivers from the nvidia-open package.

Does the normal nvidia driver render correctly?

Has nvidia-open even left alpha stage yet?

Is the font used on the form included in the install, or does it rely on the operating system to have the font or font family installed?

I'm pretty sure the fonts used come packaged with the launcher, so it can't be that =(

(edit: nevermind, even though fonts are packaged with the launcher it was still a font issue in this case)

Thanks for all your feedback. Turns out I didn't have any fonts that are compatible with the launcher installed, I fixed it by installing the ttf-dejavu package.

File a bug against the AUR package (if that's a thing in arch) to add that dependency.

Though thinking about it, shouldn't fontconfig pick a fallback font? I'm fairly sure it goes through fontconfig.
